Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

WOW! Version 2 looks even awesomer!!!!

Just one thing B, so why no black paint for the carb bodies?

Cheers

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Thanks everyone. I wanted to paint the carb bodies but was not able to commit to spraying paint on my new CRs. It ads a little contrast being plain too.

I like them better in silver too. :)

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

This is the best and most pro looking bike i've seen on these forums

(even if I would of kept some silver to the engine)

all you gotta do now is move the battery to the back and she'll be perfect

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Haha thanks! I think I will keep the battery where its at. I am real happy with the way she turned out.

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

BWJ!!!!!!! THIS IS THE CLEAN_IEST BIKE IVE EVER SEEN. i want to make love to it! lol Ok one question man i have a cb750 78 f2 with the comstar rims like you had and there ok and all but i got to have my spokes. How did you make this conversion work since supersports 78's only have comstars and never had spokes. I found these rims online that are set up already for disc. What do you think about them. Will they work?

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Thanks for the props! On my bike I used the complete front end from a 1975 Goldwing. For the rear I used a hub from a 1975 CB750 F1 so I could keep the rear disc brake. Just so you know the forks on the 1977 and 1978 F models are narrower than all the other CB750 models which make the brake offset different. You cant just buy spoked wheels from an earlier CB and bolt them on. You need to get new triple trees that why I just used a Goldwing front end. As for the wheels in your post I seriously doubt you could just bolt them up to your stock F3 forks and swingarm.

Yah your a god in my eyes lol. In my situation what would you do to keep a reasonable price range. I want the spoked rims big time but pretty much what im getting is that i will need to buy a new swing arms and forks and tripple tree to make this work. If i buy spoked wheels from an earlier cb i would still need to make these adjustments correct (they would have to have the disc brakes set up already just like on the wheels i posted correct) Yah sorry for the questions but i read this whole thing than when i saw the transformation from you having cstars to spoked it just brought out the bike more and made it look cleaner. This whole old school but with new school collaboration works well!

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

can you just send me a pm please

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Thanks bro. Your swing arm will work, I used mine. I had to modify the spacers a bit but it worked. You need a rear spoked hub from a 1975 or 1976 CB750 F model. That way you can keep the rear disc brake.

For the front you could use a CB750 K front end but you would lose the dual disc brakes up front. Unless, you did a dual disc conversion. Search ebay and craigslist. Shit comes up cheap all the time. Especially the Goldwing stuff (years 75-76-77 for the front end) Feel free to ask any questions I love to help when i can. I know its confusing as hell and I felt overwhelmed when gathering all the parts but its real straight forward and easy.

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

very overwhelming! Well now i know what to look for when i go the swapmeet next sunday. Need to look for a rear spoked hub. I would like to keep the dual disc in the front so For the dual disc conversion i would need a goldwing front end right or would i be able to do that with a 750 k front end? My dad acutally has a 77 cb750 k im going to see if i can steal his front end ;) lol

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Yo, what are you doing to support the exhaust other than the bolts on the flange to the head?

No support. It is a design by Yoshimura but is made by Yamiya in Japan. This type pipe has been used and raced for years so I assume all is well. No issues yet. The pipe is pretty light.

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Nice work. I like the orange you went with. Not a fan of so much black but that's just me. I was focused more on your tail section. Been on the fence about cutting off the signal light mounting holes and welding in a rear hoop but I do not want to loose the mounting location.. My initial though was that it would look goofy if you could see the signal light mounts. BUT, you did a good job hiding it and I think you may have decided for me. NO HOOP! WHOOP!

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

Glad I could help someone with some ideas!

Re: The South Seattle CB750 F3 project - FORKS + REARSETS = DONE

I'd assume my Mac exhaust needs support..... I'm trying to fab a bracket but don't have passenger mounts to mount it to.

Yea you need to support the muffler, that may be to much weight.
