Nice project you got going on there teighlor. Let's ride sometime. E

hey thanks alot for posting those....yeah like i said, not done yet.... upholstering the seat as we speak.... gotta put the fork brace on.....exhaust? might just get bored and chop off 5 inches off the stockers.......not sure yet.....who knows... maybe the supertrapp tuneables.... any suggestions....?

UR tank look AMAZING!!... Is that a stock seat? Did you hammer the side knee-inserts yourself?

Now theres a person with enough room to work on their bike (see "Cramped working conditions" thread). And a poker table + bbq to boot..

Real nice bike teighlor, can't wait to see the finished product.

Man I gotta get my Seca done so I can start sourcing out a honda... before they're all bought up.

yeah i did the tank myself.... just took a rubber mallet to it and the seat is a stock pan.....should look ok when im done... oh and btw, i cut it short intentionally... thinkin about chopping 8 inches or so off the "mufflers" unless anyone else has a better idea? the poker table is not mine... i live in a double so neither is all the space.... but it works........oh but the bbq is...haha.... if anyones in the area lets get a few beers soon....

West Park Station is right down the street.

yeah thats like a block from my house...... whats that place like? i like to park my bike at smedleys in the summer and piss off the harley guys.... cause mines a rice burner. and cooler.

thats not tommy lenehan is it? anyway.... a beer would be good..

hey whats up everyone? is everyone sleepin in here? so how about a beer friday maybe? i dont know about that westpark station... maybe though.....its a real crowded place... but i would prolly check it out..... anyone here good with electronics type stuff? i got rid of my key ignition switch and put a toggle switch on.... think i wired wrong or somethin.... when i connect the battery the lights are on and the toggle switch does dothing to it when switched on or off........???????

Hey T, I may be able to do drinks on Friday. I'll let you know. Regarding your wiring issue, i believe JDigga had similar issues. Hopefully he will chime in here.

cool man, lets try for some beers..... yeah the wiring thing is driving me crazy....... i gots to get that sorted out then the timing which i also hate messing with... then i should be sorted out ..........

Hey teighlor,

My bike has a toggle switch too; it was wired up like this:

and looked like this:

You probably just need to isolate the red wire from the others.

I did my timing at the end of last season using the spark plug #4 againt the engine case method. It was a minor pain the ass, but I got it spot on.

Cool project, btw--can't wait to see it done and on the road. :)

Hey,
Can you post in the "Tank Section", with pics exactly how you did that tank???!!!... I absolutely love it!!.. Did you use different size rubber mallets? How the hell did you get it so smooth and even?

Thanks
Noel

Ok... so its the brown/white and black wires on one contact, and the red one on the other, with the solid brown just taped off, right? think i got it......

and the tank, well, i just got lucky and took my time.... you really should use metalworking hammers, but i didnt have those close by... i used what i had and got lucky.... i will send some pics of different angles... its damn near perfect symmetry though.....

There should be a brown, brown/white, and black on one contact. There's an extra brown wire in my headlamp with nowhere to go; apparently it's for non-US bikes that have a parking lamp feature.

Thats awesome.. I appreciate that.. iyour tank is pretty damn perfect and I'd love to see some close ups...
Im gonna try my hammering skills on an old shitty tank before I try to do it on my "good tank"
Any tips?

Can I ask what wheel/tire set up you are using?

Is the suspension lowered somehow?

magikphun

Its easy to lower the bike..
You can just push the forks throught the upper triple clamp by 2 inches and get lowering block for the rear or use shorty shocks.
That will SLAM the bike nice and low!!..
