The moral of the story here is that, as with all things, there is inevitably going be set backs and struggles... But patience and more importantly persistence is always rewarded. Who ever thought wheels could be a metaphor for life.../
Joe... I didnt even know that existed. Apparently you can install them even after the tires mounted through the valve stem? Those things are pretty sweet!

Looking good so far.
I'm diggin' the wheels and tires. I can't wait to see this one finished.
I repainted the shocks and I was able to get the collar down with out any issues this time.
Does anyone know if I need the cover on the top of the shocks? I think I can just get rid of it but if I don't, I will cut the existing one down to be a little more lower profile.
you will need a small vibrator to do that though the stem to get them in there but i worry that the weights on there will have marred the coating under it... shocks look baller man! white rim just pops!!!
I bought a flush mount gas cap a few months back. I started cutting up my tank to lay a new piece of sheet metal down. I got the fit pretty decent but I keep torching hole in the tank b/c I'm using a MIG. As much as I would rather try to get this done on my own... I think I should be wise and know I dont have the proper tools to finish the job and take it to someone with a TIG. More pics to follow when it's done.
The dudes fucked up my tank pretty bad. The cut a weird piece of sheet that doesnt really match all that well and then when they were welding the thing together, the must have had cap on b/c the top sucked in from the heat! I'm trying to pull the dents out as much as I can and see if when I bondo I can get it to look smoother.
Geez....apparently they weren't all that professional? I hope you get it sorted, as I enjoy seeing pics of this thing as it goes along! (sorry I'm a pic whore)
Ya... I guess not. They were saying that the tank was super thin and that's why it pulled in. I guess that makes sense but still, you would think that they would have slowed the welding down so it didnt happen.
I had a pretty shitty weekend following that event. Actually, it wasn't a great week.. but anyway. I did get some positive results copying a work table from mysta2.
I dont think I would have gotten that I lifted it up there following the first to second pic... mighty perceptive of you, sir! And yes, I still need to get a ramp and a chock. Might go to HF today and get some. They have the chock for $40. That should round it out nice.
on my HF jacks i run a piece of hose around the loop, sport bike rotors tend to touch it and that will protect them from any damage... nice and clean... be careful grinding tdown those welds before bond so you dont punch though... but the dends do not look bad... use dyna gold body filler way way better than bondo crap!
