Re: Time to make the rd look like it runs haha

If you run out I'll send you a couple to grind on. I find letting you vent is beneficial to the surrounding population.

;)

Im a bit jealous I don't have your skill set...

I wish I could build like that and not have to buy eBay parts etc...but Im already having a bitch enough time installing "store bought" Moto Carrera rearsets.

One day, I will be worthy of this forum...one day...maybe the next bike.

Awesomeness wrapped in Bacon.

Re: Time to make the rd look like it runs haha

The gas tank is sectioned and welded out i still have to put air to it and try to seal the leaks (there is gonna be a few im sure)

Next is the oil tank planning. im still not 100% on how im gonna run the line, vent, fill neck, sight glass and fasten it to the gas tank clean. but im not gonna let that stop progress i spent a little time on resizing the front axl. But all and all its moving right along.

Sometime act first, plan later, gets the job done!

But .... why do you have 'converting the carbs to run pre-mix' on the to do list?

Re: Time to make the rd look like it runs haha

make a low spot in the floor of the oil tank and then drill through that and the fuel tank and insert a short length of tube and seal around it. That will be the oil feed. try to get it as flush as possible with the floor of the oil tank. Replace the tank section and fit a vented flush fit filler cap. No sight glass, low oil level light etc needed.

Drill and tap the carbs manifolds or reed boxes (your choice) for a small threaded barb or vacuum fitting for the oil feed from the pump.

Job done. Check oil by opening cap, every time you fill with gas and top up as required.

Re: Time to make the rd look like it runs haha

The small flush mount fill cap is provin to be tuff to fing any ideas snd thanks for the how to on the oil injection ill look in to it i thought it had to go into the carb

Re: Time to make the rd look like it runs haha

I've seen the chopper guys use small flushmount fuel caps. I'll find a pic when i get home and on the desktop.
And if you go with the yz swinger, I call dibs on your current swinger ;)

Re: Time to make the rd look like it runs haha

ill take a look at the ds7 engine i have.. pretty sure oil is injected into cases not carbs.. i know the 74/75 h2 had oil fittings into carbs-also into cases for main bearing lube..
