The SkyTeam 'Ace' Resource

I remember some posts about making your own spacers for front shocks (from nuts and bolts), and think there was even pictures.

Please can someone post the link to that post for me. Also if it doesn't cover it, is 110ml of 30w shock oil per shock, the best amount to refill with once the mod is done?

Cheers

19-20mm diameter x 25mm long (3/4" x 1") and definitely solid.

They really improve the feel of the front end!

Thanks Chris - it was 75.

The threaded end goes into the centre of the spring, and the fork cap bears against the bolt head:

It might be crude, but it's effective!

Thanks for the spacer details, I think I will have the dealer pop those in while he is assembling the bike. Not up for the fight to get them apart.

How about the fork oil? Ideas on volume and specification. I am 82kg. And living in Christchurch, our roads are still stuffed and will be for some time to come. Lumps, bumps and holes everywhere. I should have bought a Motocross bike!

Cheers

I don't get the point of the heavier fork oil. I've only done the pre-load to stop the bike nose-diving with every small bump, and with even the lightest braking. The damping seems OK to me!

The quantity used appears to be 110ml for each leg.

got the brackets for the new headlight and fairing today, just needed longer bolts to line it all up, but its looking good. just waiting for a speedo and a bracket to move the key into the side of the fairing, that and all the rewiring :/

New member PT40 posted photos of his 250cc 'Ace' elsewhere; I've copied them to this thread so nobody misses seeing them.
