I usually run straight pipes on my older trucks. Just trying to announce my presence.

... Threads like this, and the people who comment on them.

Also, the Dutch.

the nerve of the poor tring to enjoy "a" meal and live in a house. next thing you know ten dirty kids are gonna want toys to play with, and public schools to learn in, give them a inch ect ect.
ill bet the family on ebt would trade there steak and shrimp for the opportunitys you had that they didn't. im not saying hard work shouldnt be rewarded but your bitching about food and housing for poor familys

Sounds like your the one with entitlement issues.

I'm more than willing to give a helping hand to someone in need. But what I hate, and what I think Rufio is referring to, are the able bodied, lazy assholes that collect handouts, handouts that I was forced to give them, who COULD be working, but they choose not to and collect a check. It's rewarding laziness. Why the hell should we reward laziness and punish hard work and success?

I would rather choose the people that I help and give money to, not have some hacks in DC choose for me.

Your right on second thought mabie we should have a 400% increase in it taxes on ammo to pay to feed and house the poor. My tax dollars go to feed prisoners serving time for rape, i hate it. but there is nothing i can do becouse i like running water and freeways and knowing the cops come if i call them

Someones economic standings can change to fast to throw the bady out with the bath water on feeding the hungry. were all a accident or sickness or layoff away from in need.
And how are hard worker being punished by how tax dollars are spent . after you blow a load why do you care if it get flushed or swallowed. i dont see a difference.

This!

Don't get me wrong.... I understand hard times and the need for some programs. But there is a time when enough is enough. Difference between swallowing some pride for some assistance, and milking the system. Simple enough.

The difference being whether you are flushing or swallowing is a big difference IMHO. The guberment seems to like us swallowing their loads...

probably my number one despise is the fact that our tax money is being used to murder innocent civilians in far off lands, for no good reason, other than feed the MIC
the defense department burns over 7 BILLION gallons of fuel/gas/diesel/jet a year ! that is what is admitted to

So who pays to feed, clothe and educate the children of these scum bags? Parents get nothing = kids get nothing. I pay school tax every year. Dont have any kids. Cool with me. Rather contribute to the education of the young that will someday be running the world I live in. Fact is, we don't get to pick and choose where the majority of our taxes go. Welcome to Democracy. Hell, if it were up to me the education budget would be the defense budget. It's not though, so you know what I do? Wait till the next election and vote for the folks who I believe will enact the change I look for. Eh... Nevermind. I'm rambling.

problem is there are not enuf good jobs even if anybody was qualified, which they aren't ,even if they would work which too many won't,and there isn't going to be any new jobs, we are on a downhill slide and bottom is still a long ways off
dont ferget that we have allowed the chi-commies to own a sizaeble chunk of out debt

I'm going to have to admit to a bit of bias here... As a former recipient of government assistance I think it's entirely irresponsible to cut programs like this. Without the help I received, I would never have graduated college. It's pretty unlikely that I would have gone on to hold a decent job, either. But you know... I actually took the time to work out the "investment" the government made in me and it turns out I paid back their two years of help within five years of graduating. And all the money I'm making now definitely made it worth it to society to support me while I needed it.

But really though... I don't know of anyone who abuses these benefits in the way I often hear described. The fact of the matter is, if you don't believe in welfare then you don't believe in capitalism. I know that sounds strange, but hear me out. Our whole idea of capitalism is that people will work to better themselves, right? So the idea that people would somehow be content with just enough to live on is a bit of an oxymoron. People will work to achieve so long as the possibility of achievement exists, and that's the real problem. The issue isn't that people milk the system because they're lazy. The issue is that no other opportunities exist. Raise the minimum wage to $11/hr and I bet you'd cut welfare payments by a huge percentage.

Raise the minimum wage to 11 bucks and the traditional employers, i.e. small businesses, can't afford to hire anyone.

Oh yeah, they already can't, especially with the absurd tax rates on em.
