ridesolo said:I use to have an Aerostitch suit that was black w/ red trim. With that and my red, black, & white helmet w/ a tinted shield I looked like a Power Ranger. Well, OK, a less than svelte and not-so-tall Power Ranger. :-\
cookiemech said:OK, well, if you're sure you won't fall down, great! Only motorcycle I wrecked in 38 years of riding and well over 400K miles was on a perfect, sunny, 80°F day and I dropped it at about 35 mph (it was a demo bike and the front brake locked and did not release). I was wearing all the good stuff (Aerostitch, good boots, Arai full-face helmet, good gloves) and the bike was smashed all to shit. Ruined the helmet, gloves, and boots. I was stiff and sore for two days. No road rash, no blood loss, no headache, no nothing else. Aerostitch suit was scuffed a bit and did not need repairs.
All has to do with your risk tolerance. I ordinarily wear about $2500 of protective clothing. Cheaper than plastic surgery and orthopedic work.
