3 more days of rain.
But, looks like sunny AND warmer Sunday and all of next week.
Should be able to ride the 50mi round trip to work everyday! 8)

Yup, naked again. Remembered I didnt install the heat shield under the tank. :p

Yeah, it's not there for looks . . . that aluminum tank becomes pretty warm on a hot day even WITH the heat shield in place!

Also, made these little bastards easier to remove off the tank and seat pins.
Dont help or hurt w install though.
Added little zip ties to serve as pull tabs.

Nothing left to do but add gas and a sunny day. Oh, and I ordered a fender extender...and some 3M clear plastic to wrap and protect the paint on the chinny-chin-chin thing. And a stock BMW 2 up seat...just in case. HA!

Bundle up for a 25mi shakedown cruise today. Planning a bigger ride tomorrow. 8)

Don't know if you have them, but the factory heated grips work well on this bike. They also seem to last longer than either aftermarket ones or the factory heated grips on Harley-Davidsons, which have remarkably short lives.

Seems to be raining a bit here this morning, and about 48°F, so I'll be taking either my K75 or my K75RT to breakfast at the diner, about 30 miles away. An Aerostitch suit with a jacket liner plus the heated grips will make it a comfortable ride.

Also don't know if you've run across it in your research, but K75s (and of course the K100s) do not like repeated short trips (less than five miles), since they run very rich while on the "cold" map and thus foul plugs. It was never a problem for me, since my job was 17 miles away, and now my usual morning ride is about 62 miles. Something to keep in mind if you find yourself only taking short rides.

Thanks bud, nope no heated grips or fancy pants here. :p

My daily round trip to work is 50mi so got that covered.

I got back up for the short trips. ;)

I use to have an Aerostitch suit that was black w/ red trim. With that and my red, black, & white helmet w/ a tinted shield I looked like a Power Ranger. Well, OK, a less than svelte and not-so-tall Power Ranger. :-\

Ill just stick w my flannel jeans and jacket. Thanks.

OK, well, if you're sure you won't fall down, great! Only motorcycle I wrecked in 38 years of riding and well over 400K miles was on a perfect, sunny, 80°F day and I dropped it at about 35 mph (it was a demo bike and the front brake locked and did not release). I was wearing all the good stuff (Aerostitch, good boots, Arai full-face helmet, good gloves) and the bike was smashed all to shit. Ruined the helmet, gloves, and boots. I was stiff and sore for two days. No road rash, no blood loss, no headache, no nothing else. Aerostitch suit was scuffed a bit and did not need repairs.

All has to do with your risk tolerance. I ordinarily wear about $2500 of protective clothing. Cheaper than plastic surgery and orthopedic work.
