Is there any way to get a better connection between the cap and lead ( assuming you go back to copper core)? Dipping the tip of the lead in solder so there's a better seat for the screw?
i picked up a set of accel copper core 8mm marked way down at oreilly's so we have enough for 4 bikes lol...umm I bet we can solder that cap on the spark plug ;)

I ask this... I get o'reillys commercials on terrestrial radio here in pa.
The thing is we have none around for 500 miles. It's a conspiracy to take over the world I tell ya.
Did you say you have an oscilloscope?

That's called tinning. Stranded wire moves electrons more efficiently than solid core. Current requires a thicker conductor due to current (friction). I feel as soldering a connector to a termination point with similar metals would be a good thing. You can insert a ring connector under the click type screw barrel. As long as your resistance lies in the plugs.

On small Hondas we run D10s on race gas and D8 with street gas.
thanks Teazer I think we will need it for the MR12 not gonna take any chances

That's why you use 10K plug caps with solid core leads (or 5k and resistor plugs ;) )
Crazypj why is the number 10k? I have seen numbers as high as 20k and as low as 5k???

Stock cb175 (so not Victoria ) is copper leads, non resistive plugs, 5k ohm on each cap and because of the way the stock coil works they're in series ( R1+ R2 ) which would be 10kohm total

You could probably get mydlyfcrisiz to explain properly but it's something to do with the voltage build up and discharge through plug.
You don't really need crazy amounts of voltage (when you get over 15,000) but it makes the spark 'last longer' so more chance of lighting fuel molecules

4 into 1 has a dyna wire kit that solves the problem for 20 bucks. Enough for 4 wires, ends, 4 tiny screw caps for the spark plugs. They also have copper core wire by the foot.

How fast do you think the Bostrom brothers can take turn number 11 on the CB 175?

This is why we are mounting the Dustbin as low as we can...

probably 40~50mph, maybe more with hot race tyres ;)
175 shouldn't run out of ground clearance until your elbows are scraping on the ground ;D
Low mounted dustbin will slow things down a lot though, take it off for laps and keep it for speed record attempts
