Vintage Motorcycle Auction (Vincent Black Prince) (PICS)

Dale

Coast to Coast
Was at an auction last month with my 'ol pop at Zwartkops Raceway in Johannesburg South Africa.

Saw some great old bikes. I'll add pics as I get time, becasue Ive got a stack of them from the day.

This Vincent Black Prince had a reserve of US$ 150 000.00. Lots of interest but didnt sell. Too pricey?

Couldnt get a decent pic, too much crowding and bumping.

More to come.

The design is so radical. I want to see a high end custom shop do a high tech hand made bike based on this kind of thinking...

A proper classic that gets well used and beautifully maintained. That's how it should be done.

As long as it isn't OCC, after what they did to the Brough Superior for Leno...

I have been sitting here sketching since you posted the pic. Wish I had a high end shop at my disposal.

Re: Vintage Motorcycle Auction (Vincent Black Prince)

Nice pics, and nice bikes. Yes the Vincents are all over priced, not a surprise, they are just the latest fashionable trinket for millionaire's to have in their game-rooms.

If you want to ride a Vincent on the cheap, just get onto an old Harley Sportster and don't look down when you are riding along. If the final gearing on both is set up the same one does not offer much over the other in feel, sound or performance.
