I love that Triumph Junior!

Interesting how far we've come, yet layout is pretty much identical to a state of the art motorcyle today... I guess if it aint broke, dont fix it. Erik Buell amongst others have changed the layout of bikes on a commercial level to a degree, Moto GP bikes have fuel tanks closer to the center of gravity in terms of position, yet, essentially, its all the same as a 1912 Motor bicycle I guess...

Nortonguy - whats your take on the red Norton with the JAP motor? Stock?

That JAP/Norton is a special that somebody put together. Norton had some v-twins in their very early days before WWI using Peugeot engines. After that they did not have a twin until the Dominator came out after WWII.....

They did a nice job on that special though. A lot of British marques used Jap engines, Matchless and Brough and others so all it would have taken is for fate to change management or some other little detail and Norton could have done something like this...

Also the AJS marque was AJ Sachs, a German 2 stroke builder that was put in lots of bikes including Zundapp--yet I NEVER see an old Zundapp in these auctions or shows. I had a 54 Zundapp 250 and have always wanted to find another one. Any ideas?Thnx.bj

Thanks for the info NortonGuy. I suspected that, but as you say many manufacturers used the JAP motors, so wasn't sure. Agreed then, a nice special. Would have been cool to talk to the owner.

Interesting stuff hocbj23! So we've got a Japnorton I guess. :p
