Really? Because if I get shit-canned from this gig, I'm thinking of going back to school for mechanics, and UTA has one of the better mechanical schools around. I may be giving you a call as well.

No problem. I've been thoroughly impressed with the work both you and Kit have done. I think anyone with a good amount of mechanical ability and a little mathematical aptitude can make a great engineer. People with real world hands-on experience more often have a better grasp of whats going on than the book smart PhDs. I sometimes feel the hands-on stuff you guys do would be more fulfilling as I basically play around in MS Excel all day. But it pays well. ;) That's what hobbies are for right?

Industrial designer here. Used to design phones for Motorola. Now, I'm doing innovation strategy stuff at a packaging company. Here's the kinda stuff that results from my work.

Lots of cool jobs here! Love the pics. ;D

I grew up onstage, as my father was a high school theatre teacher. Started acting when I was 8, extra in a couple of movies, and stage crew, built and designed sets. Became a nightclub DJ in the 80s. Yes, all of those damned songs are still stuck in my head. Rick Astley can kiss my asstley.

Later, after spending a couple of years as a live sound engineer at The Newport Music Hall, the nations' longest running live concert venue, I went out on the road, and did shows in 42 states, Canada and Mexico. Lots of fuzzy memories, but the experiences of traveling and seeing this continent out the window of a rental van has made me wiser than my years.

I later worked for a audio/lighting/video production company in their installation division, building all the power distribution, and rewiring anything that needed it. NONE of my power distros ever failed during my tenure there. (It's nice when people don't get electrocuted onstage)

Now? Now I have a suprisingly sweet job. Not sure if I deserve it, but I'm an Electronics Technician for The Ohio State University Athletic Department. What do I do now? I turn on the announce mic for sporting events and go eat free hotdogs. ;D Football's a big deal here in Columbus, Ohio, and I'm on the sidelines for every game. We maintain the scoreboards and sound systems for 18 sporting facilities for our 36 varsity sports. (I actually stay pretty busy) This fall we will have a brand new 20mm LED scoreboard installed! The old system has been in operation since 1985. Look for those sweet LEDS in prime time when we play USC at night. Should look amazing!!

The bike is my hobby, and my daily transportation when it's not raining. It's a welcome distraction at the end of a hard day. Okay, I'm a state employee, so it's not exactly hard work, but you know what I mean. Here's my office.... It holds 105,000 on gamedays. My office is in the closed end.

I run the copy machine.....Well, that's what my company thinks. My full job is in Tool making. Injection molds, work holding devices, jigs/fixtures, answering stupid questions and cad programming, and lying to customers for the short term benefit of the people holding my scrawny paycheck over a paper shredder. (think dilbert in a non-airconditioned factory in the south) In the past its been construction worker, radio tower technician (the guy that climbs them), concrete finisher, and even librarian....hey, i needed money ;)

Do you have the skinny on the next iteration of the mighty GSXR 1000??? What's on the horizon? Are there any quirks with the '08 gixxer 1ks? Just wondering cause I'm a huge fan/owner of gixxers and Kaw ZXs!

Self employed, doing contract work in aerospace (I have a degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science).
I offer / offered many different services - pretty vertically integrated. I have done everything from building / designing parts and moulds to working on aircraft certification and being on aircraft sales teams. Not just stuck in aerospace work - we've looked at stuff in the recreational and automotive markets as well.
Last long term contract was Materials and Composites Coordinator on a 2 place, carbon fiber jet project. Since then, have done some smaller aircraft jobs but am looking at longer term work again as the economy improves.
Most - if not all of you - probably know me best from my excellent vintage motorcycle fiberglass parts, sold under "Pacomotorstuff".

I'm a special educaion teacher. My second career--I have a BS in business and worked as a transportation manager for about 10 years. My oldest son was diagnosed with autsim (about 6 years ago) and I went back to school to get a spec. ed. teaching credential. Teaching is the best job I have ever had! I'm making about half of what I used to, and I've never been happier.
