Where in the UK are you ?

Charing mods :

Join the two outputs from the alternator, as standard the alternator is only fully engages when the head
Ignites are on ( the headligh switch also puts the alt into full power mode'

Replace the rectifier and regulator assemblies with a more modern reg-rec combo, eg the Kohler one for about £ 20.

Easy mods and esp valuable with a lithium battery which you REALLY don't want to overcharge!

Today the delivery fairy brought new Gold chain and selection of core plugs.

So finished work a little early...... And fitted test core plug, inside the existing one.

Seems to have sealed ok , but I'll probably still pull the old plug and replace properly.

Trimmed chain to length, fitted, faffed about for ages with the clutch ... as the adjustment works opposite to how I though it works :)

And we have a working motorcycle !!!

Still need to rebuild speedo and fit, and various other jobs, but phase 2 of the project is finished, ish.

Hi UK. I'm new here, my intro post is http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=69269.0
I'm in sunny Shrewsbury. Anyone else from Shropshire way? Would love a blast out with some cafe racers.

Welcome aboard SS ..............there's a growing band of DTT'ers in the greater Midlands area.

Quite a few of the lads are getting to the end of their builds ready for Spring / Summer - who knows ?

I've applied to the Cholmondeley [ Chumleigh ] Speed festival - or whatever they're calling it this year - for a club space fo DTT / UK. I'll keep you info'd.

health issues might keep me away - but I can still get on with the initial negotiations - keep you all posted.

I've got great memories of the only time I've been there - for a Deva Dubs and Rods show! Good weather, good friends, and a pretty town. I did love burning down the side streets with my beetle, letting off and hearing the backfires bounce from the walls!

Anyway, here's what the Guzzi V50 looked like a week or so ago. Dad got arty farty with the camera, this weekend he was far more useful and helped me with brake bleeding and pointing out things that I miss. I'm better with cars than bikes still, whereas he does nothing mechanical these days, but had motorbikes all through his youth!

Deva dubs is a great show, I always went when I had my mk1 golf. I may go this year with the Ducati just for fun (although it is walking distance).
The Guzzi looks wonderful, love the shape of the seat.

Up in Bolton, was here a few years back but took a break. Currently in the process of putting Jessica through a "rebirth"

Phase two is complete!

That's engine back in and basic tune of the carbs to get it running ok, ready for mot.

Phase 3 is new seat, shocks and maybe a 2-1 exhaust.

Bike looking great, so it's adorning the kitchen for a while :)

Well done for getting the bike in the house. My Mrs thinks I'm joking about mine coming inside next to the stairs in our hallway when it's finished.

I keep telling her it will be a nice 'feature' but she's not liking the sound of it.

Haha, much as it'd be nice to keep the bike in the house (and that Honda looks lovely!), for me the weather here is just too crap! I like to ride my bikes, often commute on them, and they're dirty enough after a single ride you'd have to clean it every night to want to keep it looking good indoors. :( Same reason my bikes have full front and rear fenders.
If I lived somewhere that was sun 80% of the year, I'd do it.

Hi guys

Been a bit manic work wise for a few weeks so I missed my deadline of April 1 for getting the Honda on the road.....

But this week I had some time so put it on my multi bike policy, and went for an MOT

Was convinced it would fail on something I hadn't remembered, or not tightened up and would fall of but no it passed!

Celebrations cut short by the monsoon I rode through on the way back, not looking quite so pristine now but ROAD LEGAL, and free tax

Longer test ride today and all seems well, handles Go's and stops ok for an old twin.

Ordered an old fashioned number plate from eBay today to complete the look.

Still need a nice seat and new shocks, but plan to ride it a bit and see what else is needed first.

Very happy with the result!
