White Lightning SOLD cb125 party next

Re: White Lightning now with VIDEO

I'm not high but i do write a lot for rad school so as a result i never reread my typing anytime other then when i have to. i just sometimnes spellcheck but not even thats reliable. you should see some of the text my girlfriend gets. i get tired of reading my own writing.
anyway i got tired of looking for that one majically part off a rack off 550 carbs to hold the throttle, so i just zip tied the pull cable to the frame and rigged up a spring to help pull the slides down.
dont shit i only rode it in the apartment complex lot. it did go like 40 though in second gear and sound like a raped ape as i read on this forum once.......
anyway ill vid it up or at least pics but i am in the lab now and wont be with my cam till tommorow.

side note a lot of bikes getting bought rioght now i guess you guys have a thing called winter??? not in NC i ride year round no white shuff to slip on. if i buy this cb100 this weekend i am looking at you guys will be second or third to know.
rz out

Re: White Lightning now with VIDEO

just to let you know i uses muriatic (pool cleaning) acid three times and it did not get as clean as wel i swished "the works" hcl something 20% toilet bowl cleaner around in there. it is spottless hopefully ill have a real road test by this weekend and i will send all my ghetto faboulous rigged up pictures on here so all the purists can cringe.

Re: White Lightning now with VIDEO

well not to be a liar. i brought my tank home and flushed the works down the toilet. then rinsed with baking soda to neutralize the cleaner and then water, dried with a blow dryer and then sprayed the inside with wd40
i would have taken pictures of my rigging for throttle and whatnot but my batteries were dead and i am home now with my web cam

i had this think sice my birthday and i heard it run when i boght it but now everything is coming together for riding

oil pressure sending unit bad?? try testing it with an ohm meter i believe it should be normally open

Re: White Lightning now TOTALLY MOBILE.

Glad your stoked on it dude, keep at those small fixes, and then the real fun begins ...cosmetics!

Re: White Lightning now TOTALLY MOBILE.

well my long post just got lost so ill post the pics then type in as an modification
some of my supplies including my grease screen that i am gonna cut up for velocity stack screen, baking soda for tank cleaning neutralization, rustolem, my sweet plumbing test bung/gas cap, and some bondo in the tiny can
IMG_3594.jpg

i may have some questions about how much of this is for blinkers because i wanna cut some shit out. also not pictured there is a whit loom coming from under my stator cover, it then hooks into two wires and goes under the left side cover and into the harness. i had a wire unhooked there. it was a yellow one and it seamed to be a waterproof connection. right after that the wires were both covered together in a white loom? any one know what this is?
DSCF1003.jpg

that red wire sticking out should be sautered to the brass fuse holder on the other side. i stripped it further bent the tabs and clamped it in place hopefully it stays. i also took out my broken high low beam selector and jb-welded a piece of copper across the low beam connections. don't worry ill fix it better to have both beams when i put on the club-mans.

Re: White Lightning now TOTALLY MOBILE.

nice! for my screens for the V stacks i got some metal screening like is used in screen doors. i put that on the carb then slid the stack over it, i sliced small slits in the bases of my V stacks so that i could clamp them tight. i over lapped the screen 2x's so that it was like having 2 screens on there, will keep anything out of there no problem, nicest part... after it ws all clamped down i used a clipper and trimmed it all around.. no more screen showing!

Re: White Lightning now TOTALLY MOBILE.

not only did i rewire the oil light to stop grounding against the case. but i jb welded the headlight switch on low beam and disconnected the horn, but i added a running light bare bulb, a taillight to the rear brake arm switch, and put my secondhand roc city cafe seat in place. i made a cushion from leftover school bus seat foam and covered it with pleather from Halloween costume and had my buddy with a license plate follow me on a 5 mile or so shakedown run near my storage unit.
so stoked the plugs are a little confusing, clean isolator and dirty ring. the electrode looks pretty light but i am not sure.
now that it runs ok i need to sync the carbs and reinstall the stock de7ea ngk plugs instead of the de8ea i have in there now. then i can do some proper plug chops.
thanks for the recent support and now the real customizing begins and performance upgrades like handle bars tires tighten chain and stuff like that to get it real dialed in and as soon as i get it inspected gonna pull off all the blinker speedo and tacho. maybe i will replace with a bicycle one
not showy or shiny so ill keep the pics here for now.

Re: White Lightning FAILED safety inspection current pics.

yep i failed my safety inspection. long story short bike is running great so i got some insurance on this bike i lost a few years ago and then took that title and my current bike to the gas station for an inspection.
i failed because of only having one running light. an unconventional license plate light (bare bulb) no low high beam switch/ or indicator. only having one functional brake, and no turn signals.
well turn out you do need the headlight high and lo and the indicator has to work.
but none of that other shit!!!!!! blinkers not required in NC and neither is both brakes, ( i am in the middle of rebuilding my front caliper so sue me) any way i found the guidebook online after talking to 4 people on the phone in the capital at the DOT DMV safety and theft division.
so i made a new license plate light and incorporated the running light into the brake light because it is supposed to be red.
i used a light from my bus and an old vanity door light from my oldest mercedes as a screen to make the white light. check it!!!
Photo53.jpg

wish me luck i am gonna try again if all this leftover hurricane rain is gone

Re: White Lightning FAILED safety inspection current pics.

well i went back to the inspection station and showed him the paper i printed off ncdotdmv.com or wheverevr and that i fixed the high low beam and actually the front brake too even though i didnt have to and he just punched it up. i just got home form a nice 40 minuets of riding within a couple miles of the storage unit in case i had to pus it home. now comes the gussying up!!!!!!!!

Re: White Lightning On the road again.

so anyway i am starting the "fancy phase" i decided to eliminate the glass fuse panel area and replace it with three 5 amp bussman fuses. blades. here is what i just bought from lowes and advance auto to replace the old plastic and brass housing that holds the glass ones. i am going to slowly eliminate almost all of the connections and harness under their and will be selling the connectors here and on sohc4 for those purists who want a "new" old stock fuse panel or to replace a fried one with minimal effort.
Photo54.jpg

soon i hope to eliminate the side covers and gauges. anyone blocked of the speed and tach cable output on the hub/engine

Re: White Lightning On the road again.

did some work today started a lot of things i will just post pics if anyone is interested just ask about details i get on here right regular. will prob add one thing to the 50$ mod section about using the turn signal for a high low beam switch

i just bounced on these shocks gripping with my hands and the collets popped out. i am sure i will have to work harder to get them back in when i am done cleaning, or will I?

Re: White Lightning On the road again.

id buy new shocks...

even the shitty ebay ones are better then stock.

stock are absolute junk.

Re: White Lightning On the road again.

+1 on that... but if you use the stock ones in the 50 thead there is a shock how to in there, i have a overhand shock press for my shocks to tear them apart and put them together

Re: White Lightning On the road again.

well i got the covers off and put the shocks back on. no money just tighteneing up all the stock bits as much as i can but i am upgrading all the electrical and deleting my battery for a 3 ah one and kick start.
here are the painted exhaust collars looking shineyer than in real life

Re: White Lightning back in the unit for extensive work

well not that many comments but i have begun new rewiring product. i bought a agm battery that is 5.5 Ah and lengthened the alternator feed harness by splicing in new longer wires so it wont be dangling out from the tray.
i also cut out the old battery tray and some of the mounts for the side covers, i cut an aluminum tray to hold the electronics and now i have to figure out where to put all the components as it is a tight fit.
pictures sometime this week and if anyone knows why i got those spider cracks all over my paint from the clear coat please let me know otherwise i will just keep trying till it looks ok

Either the surface wasn't perfectly clean, or the clear is reacting with the base coat. Have a look at the rattle can thread in the 1800 folder.
