Winter project CB550

Great pics, this whole project has been very inspiring, and well documented.

What spokes are you using in your front and rear wheels?

On the rear I believe I read you were using a rim made for a Harley. Were there any compatibility issues as far as spoke thickness?

Think you have done a great job on this and your 750 build. What do you have planned next?

The spokes where made by buchanan spoke and they also laced them. I tried to lace them but over my head on the inner inner lacing for the front. As far as I know they didn't have any issue.

I have a CB750 frame and engine sitting in the garage now. I'm thinking brat.

Your photog did great work. Your wife is a doll. I showed my wife and she tells me, "I want my cb to look like that". Good luck with BOTM. You know how I voted.

Haha thanks!

Finally got the carbs properly synced and went for for long ride maybe 200 miles ( no speedo). Bike is so smooth and just purrs. Went out to Meems wooden bottom covered bridge just to see one

Glad you got your bike running smooth. How are you liking the front end conversion and newly found braking power?

Brakes awesome haha grabbed a handful by accident and scared myself. The fork is set all the way soft and rear as well but it's still stiff. I like it though. Still Needs a steering damper.

WOW!! Stunning 550 sir!!
she's a head turner for sure!

What size rear did you end up with? I some how missed that in the thread.. lol

Thanks! It's been an exciting day. Thank you for your help with the rear sprocket setup. I ended up using a 180 only because it was sitting here. I'll go down to a 160 when it needs replacing.

You should put your rearset mounts on your site as well for people who might be interested. I think they are great!

yeah what he said...I have been studying those trying to figure them out.. :D

You kept the stock swing arm and rear hub right? Do you think you could have fit a 160 or 150 rear tire without offsetting the sprockets?

Stock swing arm. I offset the sprocket 10mm so even with a 160 you'd still need to offset I believe.
