XV920 "Short Bus"

Isn't a 'wetback' something totally different?
Keep front end stock, function over form ;)

it's just the crap brake Pete . I too am more for function over form . that radial wedge pivot abortifact has no place on a motorcycle of any kind . My conversations with Rich have centered on tube swaps only for period Yamaha front ends with any brake caliper but that unmitigated piece of less than junk .

I think we had a dual disc set up (or was that just the 1100?)
Maybe it was a European market thing?
XS1100 forks should fit for better brakes although I re-built a lot of the XV/Yamaha pivot brakes and they worked OK
Dust seals were always shot with corroded pistons and pivot pin rusty
You always know when an early Yamaha brake is working, the rotor wears out

Yep. Riding wet highway last night meant leaving as much room as possible rather than a 3-second gap :)

I suspect this is a pair of forks from a 750 as i thought all the 920s were dual brake.

yeah, the 920 always had dual discs

I'm working on building my adapter to use FZR 4 piston calipers on mine, with some slightly larger XS discs

much like this, but my adapters wont be quite as nice

Looks neat! Heads up, though, you can't hotlink images from the Virago forum.

[edit: they won't show up for anyone that isn't logged in there.]

You have no idea what you're missing, Brad. Cool wheels and broken starters, as far as the eye can see...

Download 'Greenshot' then you can capture whatever pictures you want although you'll have to host them somewhere

FWIW, http://imageshack.us/ is pretty good. They are free, have been stable, have a good upload facility. I used a few others, and they always had issues, deleting files, losing data....Been very happy with them

Since I am better looking, my opinion has more weight (just like me)... 8)

Yeah, well I just bought glasses with math symbols on them. Your move.

(it was an accident)
