Yamaha XS750 -77 Budget build.

Coming along nicely!

If you want to powder coat the frame there's a Company in Åtvidaberg that does it for a reasonable price!

I've got a preliminary price for powder coating at Termodyn in Vikingstad, 1000sek for frame, swing and some small stuff and 1500sek if i want the wheels powdercoated as well. Do the company in åtvid break that?

Should i use you as a reference or what?

No need really, But if you want to just say that "Pierre på macken" gave you the tip :p
and maybe I'll get a better price for sending work his way haha

Ok, ordered a seat since my last try was catastrophic. 89,50€ incl shipping is a bargain and it seems like a good build as well.

This weekend i tear the front forks and rear shocks apart. The rear shocks will be replaced with new ones. I also realized that the brake discs weight is 2,5 kg EACH!! That is 7,5 kg in just brake discs! They will be drilled and fitted with newly renovated and painted calipers.

Anyone who knows if these are crap or ok?

I'd like to know how the TIG welder performs. That seller is only 20 miles from me and I have considered buying one before but could not get any feedback on them.

I cant comment on those particular shocks but I'd rather spend the extra and get a pair of Hagons. I understand your on a budget but some of those cheap shocks can be pretty harsh.

I will let you know. Still dont got any Argon or metal rods. And I have to warn you I am a total noob (tried once or twice) in TIG-welding.

Well mocked up and planned a bit today. Think it will be awsome! Plan is mostly black but with gold accentures here and there. And a big fat gold stripe over the tank and seat.

Some pics.

Kind of, we are a bunch of people renting an old car workshop together. There are cafés, race bikes, bobbers, choppers, original harleys, moto cross bikes and so on. 55£ a month for a place. Though everyone have their own tools and so on.

Sound like a good idea... eaven if sharing welder is OK... and keep your own gas?
We do the same, but share tools... or... everybody use mine :)
But I try to convinse the other to buy a AC/DC tig... mine wount last forever...

And ofcourse a comment on your build... I will be good looking!!
