Yes another but all mine 75 CB360 Build

OK thanks! 120 Volt Neon Green Lamp is what the package reads. I probably should have tried to get power to them before I re-assembled the speedo......oops. Lets hope I don't blow them. Ummmm, that just made me think about the fact that I will have to break the speedo down when the bulbs blow.....crap. Can we say design flaw haha.

120 volt ?what were they something from radio shak ?
unless you mean 12 volt, how did you not ever test them ?
that would be the very first rattle outta the bag, :-\
it looks sweet nice job maybe put some leds in there

Yep from radio shack.
Eager. Being a little too eager.
Nothing like practice to make it perfect. Haha. :-[
Led's this go round. Now I have to find some that use the same size mounting hole. Oh well

Thanks for the links guys!

Picked up the necessary hardware at lunch to mount my speedo. I'm using my tach to mock it up that's not a scratch on my freshly painted speedometer. I will have to redo the mounting plate I made though. It doesn't allow clearance for the trip meter knob. No biggie I've already got that sorted out with a new design.

Hell, I'm about ready to just zip tie mine to the bars and call it a day

Haha Do it to it!!!
I'm not looking forward to cutting the mounting plate out again. It's a shame I know where a burn table is but it can't be used for "personal" projects. :(

You're welcome to this one. Hell I'll cut two of the new design out if you want me to. No biggie. Were you going to run a speedometer only or both a tach and speedo?

I was going to run a lowered stock cluster. I would love one of those but I would have to figure out mounting as the guy I bought my bike from shaved off the gauge mounts on the top triple. It's shiney though. :/

How hard are the top triples to come by? Willie's have any?

Haha, probably. Didn't even think to look. I like my polished triple, I think I'm just gonna have to find a way to mount stuff... Even though it would be way easier to just find a stock one... I had an idea using little L brackets off the top fork pinch bolts to support a mounting plate, just haven't had enough time to fiddle with it

The polished triples do look great. I looked back and I like your idea with the L brackets. That will turn out nice!

I like that top tree, going for the same look on my 750. How thick of a plate did you use for the bracket?

Thanks man. I used 16 Ga. I'm a little concerned with it's rigidity so I think I'm going to make a stiffener plate for it. I'll post up pics later today of what I had in mind. The plate is probably rigid enough and I'm probably concerned for nothing haha.
The problem is if the plate is any thicker there isn't enough thread for the nuts to bite (see image below). I haven't thought of a way around this. Maybe somebody will chime in on a fix.

16ga seems like it should hold up fine. The use of the long nut to connect the bracket with 2 bolts is good, I'll probably steal this idea from you now, hahah

I hope so... I have a guy in the metal shop at my guard base making the plate for me... I left him a cardboard template last time and it came out pretty wonky. I might just use the wonky one and deal with it later. My build has entered the impatience stage

Haha! Go right ahead. I didn't come up with it though. I got the idea from cafePete on here. He did a similar style mount option with the coupling bolt.
Here is a quick model of the stiffener plate I was talking about. I don't believe I'll do it though because it's not really stiffening anything. It would be more for looks really. To act as a stiffener it would need to be closer to the larger holes where the coupling bolts go.

I'm at the impatient stage and I have 3 or 4 months worth of work ahead of me at least. If wonky gets you on the road DO IT!

I agree, it will a bit stronger but it's more aesthetics than anything. Aesthetics do mean a lot though to some people
