Yes another but all mine 75 CB360 Build

The problem is if the plate is any thicker there isn't enough thread for the nuts to bite (see image below). I haven't thought of a way around this. Maybe somebody will chime in on a fix.

I replaced mine with a longer bolt.

That would work. So you just removed the factory "anchor bolt" and replaced? Did you tack the head of the bolt to the inside of the speedo housing?

The inside of the gauge backing has a tab to keep the bolt head from turning. You could tack it place, but I didn't.

OH oh I know which bolt you're talking about. I took that bolt completely out. I placed a grommet there and have my let indicator light wiring coming out. I'm using the two studs that are tacked from the factory on the inside of the gauge housing. The two studs that allow you to attach the pretty part of the gauge to the internal housing.

Nah. It's these two studs that could be a tad bit longer. I'm using them to mount the Gauge to my fabricated mounting plate. If they were a little longer I would be able to use a little bit thicker plate than 16 Ga.

I gotcha. I mounted mine from that stock mounting bolt. One thing I have done in your situation is create a recess for the nuts with a burr bit. I don't have a mill, so I just scribed a circle and carved it out. I was using 1/4" flat bar and needed it to be 1/8" where the bolts went through.

Aw c'mon. It's better to spend a few hours with a dremel and burr bits than just going online for 5 minutes and ordering the right part. Where's your adventure?

Got any work done lately?

Not really. Ordered some clip-ons, frame slugs and plug wires today. The next thing will be welding my frame hoop onto the bike but I needed my clip ons installed so that I could measure where my butt was going to sit in the riding position. As soon as they get here I'll cut and weld the hoop on then start the seat.

I've been thinking about deleting my disk brake and going with a drum up front. What are your thoughts on that? Good, bad?

I only way I personally would swap to a drum is if it was one of the big, high performance ones like off a race bike of that era... Although it does clean up the front end and is lower maintenance/easier to install. Honestly a properly adjusted drum brake can be plenty effective on a small bike, they just get less effective with extended hard use. If you have the money to buy the front end off a cj and like the look, I don't see why not

Cool man thanks for the input. I might start looking for one. I haven't even looked at what it will cost to be honest. That might be the decision maker.

You can get a drum front end from any 360 or 350 for that matter. Really all you need is the complete wheel and cable and right side handle. The wheels bolt right up to the forks on 360 and some 350 bikes.

Cool man thanks for the info! I really like the look of the drum up front. Just looks cooler IMO.

FYI, if you ever consider selling tank badges off either bike, let a brother know.

It looks really great, and I don't just mean your wife's legs
