We are using the pattern to make a hammer form out of MDF. After getting a rough outside we found the center for the top and bottom and struck a center line. We then scribed the center line and folded it in half.
Now we sandwich a cut to fit plus 3/4"
You have to trim the ends by notching them out. Then we put it in the vice and worked our way down one side shaping the aluminum to the MDF being careful not whack too much!
next step we put it on the belt sander and made the edges even with the form. The most time consuming is the next step. You want to nurl the edges for a tight fit and you don't want any part of it to be under tension.
You can see where I need to do some more nurling. I just use a pair of pliers and a sharpie to mark how much to move the tunnel edge. Now the MDF rounded edge was measured to be the control. So as you press the bottom into the sides you have the control. You nurl the edges of the tunnel to match the sides.
we reassembled the bike so that we can take it to the barber vintage festival and we had it in various stages welded. well we just got back from the Barber Vintage Festival!!! We met the Brittens! Sam Britten is a film maker and interviewed Zeke he said Victoria was "bad Osss." Saw Andrew Stroud beat Chris Boy on cold tires with the Britten!!!!! Saw 9 Brittens! Zeke road Victoria and I road Lucky around the loop road all weekend. Brian Case, the designer of the Confederete Wraith and co-founder of Motus, told Zeke that ZOÖID was perfect and not to finish it. We picked up a Kiwi helmet! Somehow I believe we're going to end up in New Zealand one day my friend.
