Re: Fender/guard....I found a cheap used alloy guard of a similar wheel diameter, cut it down to size and made mounts in the style I liked.
I cut down the original guard inner U shaped mount, to use the factory fork leg pick up points, then fashioned 8mm thickwall steel tube and slotted the end to slide onto the metal mounting tabs. I also welded tabs to fix the guard to the mount and used a buttonhead allen bolt and domed nuts. Turned out OK and looks like a 60s Brit bike style mount.
