"RATTLE CAN" BLING! ...everything is here!

Read all 34 pages and haven’t come across the answer to my question. I’m using duplicolor hi-build fleet coating gloss black enamel. Question is, can I spray primer then the paint in one session? As in the 2-3 coats of primer, then the 2-3 coats of paint all back to back?

Probably. I've not used that particular duplicolor but Read the cans. the primer will say when you can top coat over it and what kind of paint. most are top coatable in 2-3 hours some in as little as 30 min but read the can. Duplicolor enamels are generally easy to spray and lay down well but again, read the can and follow instructions.

Most Duplicolor primers are lacquer, which can be painted over with enamel. BUT! I would give 24 hours after my final primer coat for all of the lacquer solvents (usually a lot of acetone and other aromatic solvents) to go. If you keep them in an area that won't allow smells to get to where you are, your nose should recover enough to tell you if the parts are still putting off vapor. To my nose, most Duplicolor primers and base lacquers smell "fruity" - almost like apples until fully cured. You don't want these trapped under an enamel. A flow of warm (not hot) air can speed removal of the vapor from the surface, but it still needs to work its way out through the film.

True here. When I use the Lacquer primer I usually am top coating with a lacquer top coat then a 2 K Clear. When I use the enamels I use the etching primer if any primer at all. Can't remember the coat window but I again, read the cans of what I am using and follow what they say.

Paint in haste, repaint at leisure!

i’d give ot 24 hours
I googled the Etch, it is lacquer and Duplicolor says 24-48 for a full cure which you need to coat it in Enamel. If you were going lacquer colour it would be 30 min. the Rule they have is:
Enamel can go over enamel
Lacquer can go over Lacquer
Enamel can go over Lacquer after full cure, not just dry which is what PID was saying with the smell test.
Lacquer CANNOT go over enamel.
