thanks you guys. i have been sick and haven't looked here until today. after making this post,. i also broke the throttle cable and that is frustrating. I have used 6sigma jet kits in the past with my LTZ400 quad and my GL1200 wing project, so i might try that route.

If anyone else is searching this, the GN400 had a 18x1.85 front wheel, which is wider and gives more tire options than the GS 18" wheel that is 1.6" wide. Thanks. I just went ahead and bought them. Amazingly it seems the gs450 and gs850 have the same fork spacing, even though the 850 is dual front brake. My plan is a GN400 front wheel on a GS850 fork set with single GS850 brake setup, which looks like it might be the same as the gs450 left.
