    cb750 overbore Q

I appreciate it! I was actually looking into resleeving instead of boring for a while. I got donated some cb900 pistons though, so it ended up being cheaper to overbore. And hey, a few more cc's can't hurt. Now I'm glad I didn't have to deal with the extra gotcha's. Sent from my iPhone using...

Nope, same sleeves. Just an overbore. Yikes, I hope you don't know that from experience...

    cb750 overbore Q

Its from a top end rebuild kit, so at least most of the other gaskets will still work. I thought as much, thanks for the info though!

    cb750 overbore Q

Hey y'all, Just a quick question: I have a 1982 cb750k which i'm overboring to fit cb900 pistons. I bought an aftermarket cb750 head gasket back before I knew I was doing the overbore, will it still fit after the rebore? the bore is increasing by 3.5 mm. thanks!

update: I took a peek inside the spark plug holes and saw rust. Not a huge amount, the 3rd piston is only dull, but they're not clean. So, per BrosMSU's advice I pulled the valve cover just to make sure that the cam chain hadn't lodged itself anywhere. Luckily it was sparkly clean in there! I...

Ah. That makes sense. If I can't get it to budge is there a way to cut off the head of the bolt and get the cover off that way? I'm not optimistic about just prying at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't have access to a welder unfortunately. Why do you suggest not heating the bolt? Just curious. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the reply Barnett468, I tried to turn the oil filter bolt already and it rounded over. Do you suggest I just file the edges and try again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BrosMSU, I appreciate your taking the time to school me a little. I think some patience on my part will go a long way with this project. I just downloaded the service manual, is there a separate workshop manual that I should look for? I have tried some pretty aggressive tactics to unstick the...

I just read that 50-50 acetone and automatic transmission fluid is a good place to start as an unseizing brew. thoughts?

Thank you BrosMSU, those are some awesome links. It's amazing how much info there is online about this bike. The airbox is long gone I believe. I purchased some new pods for it because thats what I saw on there... again, I'm a total novice. Unfortunately, after attempting to turn the engine...
