I'm trying to find a stock '80 kz250 ltd seat or pan to reshape and upholster. Condition of pan is much more important than the material on it. Didn't find anything on cl or ebay. I'm out of Philadelphia, PA. Any clues as to where to find one are also greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Holy crap! That is insanely cool! I want to ask if it's functional/how...but I feel you may have already gotten into that in the part that I have yet to read (which I will). SO if you explained already, awesome stuff. If not, please explain if/how that thing works.
As a new rider, this thread was a good read. The "don't get comfortable" advice definitely stuck. I figure if I listen to what the old-heads say, I might make it into old-head-hood myself. Thanks to all who pitched in here.

Cool bike, you should start a build thread on it. As per paint v. powdercoat, you can either paint of powdercoat whatever you want. Parts that would have more contact wear with the rider, and that you basically never want to show wear would be a good candidate to powdercoat, seeing as how it is...
