Well, the look is kind of based on brat/cafe racer, but the tires should allow me to handle dirt roads better than my sport bike and save money on gas over a "cage." :)

A few performance upgrades in mind, nothing too drastic: 2-1 exhaust, tune the carbs, and K&N pods. One of the major factors in me looking at another bike was something to ride on more rural roads so this will also get dual sport tires. And as we're chopping the bike it's making it lighter...

We have design ideas but nothing final yet. We have a stock seat pan (pan only) on order to work with. The seat that came with the bike is in excellent shape so we'd like to sell it later, we are finding out how hard it is to find parts for this bike! Not impossible but challenging. :) We...

Thanks! We took the meters off today, found the bike has been dropped more than once and the meter bracket is broken but usable. Some of the other covers would need to be replaced. Most economical option right now is to modify what we have, replace the front cover with metal, and use LEDs...

Thanks, Fox! Appreciate the info on Sonreir. It's the entire panel with the speedo, tach, and indicator lights. I am looking for a sleeker look, we are probably going to do something totally custom. Still not sure if we are keeping the original speedo/tach but if we do they will need some...

Beautiful bike! Well, guess I should have read this a week ago, LOL! Yes we are also having some issues finding parts but are finding some stuff around. We considered starter clutch repair but instead just got a new starter clutch. Hopefully that will make that repair easier. :)

1980 Kawasaki KZ750G Twin As mentioned in my introduction thread, a week ago I didn't know what "do the ton" meant, or what a cafe racer was. But I saw a bike I loved and wanted something like it, so I looked for an older bike that I could design into a cafe racer style bike and my boyfriend...
