Thank you. The extenders seem to have worked. The bike fires up nice and easy and first gear feels nice all the way up. For some reason im not able to get beyond neutral. The shifter linkage is sloppy
Did a little assembly work on my 71? CL350 yesterday. Utilizing Amateur Powers I welded in a decent steel plate to stiffen the rear of the frame some and facilitate mounting of a kz650 rear fender. Fender was laying around from another project and turned out just right on the CL.
Engine has new...
I went with a 71 CB500 front end on mine... staid with factory wheel sizes for now though.
I just finished assembling the engine so next will be some frame welding. Maybe see you up there one day I ride out of Maryville TN some times.
Old thread revitalization.
I have a 350 and I’m about to do the same. These guys are nuts that some flexibility is designed in. They are flexible because it’s made of stamped steel and mass produced. My kz1000 would have so much “designed in” flexibility it’s a death trap. It’s called death...
The bike rides great. The Firestones are good too. I did notice they follow groves in the road a little but not a worrisome thing.
I pushed these tires in the cold wet and dry with zero complaints. Still building a set of 17s tho 8)
These old bikes start out pretty lazy imo it feels great but I agree about measuring. The smaller wheels will affect it even more. I have a set of hagons on the shelf just in case.
These tires have modern rubber but look old. I’ve pushed them a little on the cold dry and they were fine. I’m too chicken in the wet to find out much.
I will report back later this weekend. The PO included them in the sale. I’m building 17s to swap on later.
Thanks for the compliments. I’m digging this bike
Picked up this bike about a month ago. PO said had battery drain but I’m pretty sure main issue was dead R/R.
Out with all the old chopped up wiring. Minimized custom harness (not yet come complete)
New ricks lithium R/R
Antigravity 8 cell lithium battery
ZXR shocks
New Firestone champions...
