Quick update on the Italians in my garage. I sold the senna ST4s in the photos in my previous report and replaced it with a newer red '06 ST3s. I also recently bought an '05 999. The 999 needs some engine work, but should be on the road late winter or spring.

Fast forward, almost done. Turns out, the stock front brake reservoir is too big and interferes with the forks with the superbike bars. I've got a smaller one off a KLR650 ordered, and it should be here today. Other than that, I think this project is about done. I like the look of the superbike...

That's actually a pretty nice looking bike as is. Definitely ride it for a while and make sure you want to cut it up. I've owned several Viragos. ad they make a great platform for a custom (pics of my '82 920cc street tracker below). Watch out for the "box of rocks" starter. They all have it...

I'm coming to the party late, but to add a suggestion concerning sanding the edges of the fins, I've attached a photo of a Virago I did a few years ago. Partial fin sanding turned out pretty well.

A few updated photos. I'll probably ride it like this for a month or two before I tear it back apart. I went ahead and ordered a pair of superbike bend bars for giggles. I may or may not use them, but I want to give them a try and see how they look.

I might consider that. The clubmans are definitely NOT comfortable, and I'm on the fence on the look. The pegs are in the wrong position with the clubman bars, but might not be too bad with something different.

I was finally able to get some paint on the tins over the weekend. It turned out pretty good, but always room for improvement. I had an old Buco half helmet, so I painted it to match. I'm hoping to put it back together in the next day or two, and I'll post a few more pics at that point. After...
