I wondered the same thing until I found the head of the screw still stuck in the middle of the tread. I thinking the screw went in straight but snapped when it hit the inside of the rim then made a 90 degree turn and shot out of the sidewall.
Just got back from fishing. Rode the bike to a pond a few miles away from my house. Didnt catch anything but got my line wet. I was hoping the bass and bluegill were going to be active and starting to bed so I took my fly rod for some topwater action. Bad decision because the fish were still...
I have no idea what the shorty pipes actually are. I got them from a friend who had them in a box of extra parts when he got his cb360. My bike isnt actually flat black. Its a dark gray and has a little bit of black that I just lightly dusted the tank and side covers with. I would like to find a...
Thanks alot. Nicks bike by the way is a 78 twinstar 200. He just put the bars on awhile ago and we created a seat pan, added a cowl and painted it two days ago. Funny thing is that he picked out the same vinyl for his seat as me before even seeing my bike. Great minds think alike.
Took a ride with my buddy Nick today. It was our first time riding together and the longest ride for him since we gave his bike a little cafe look. Its supposed to warm up even more tomorrow (high of 62!) so im hoping he has the time to go for another ride.
Ive been thinking about using some pods and then dropping the battery down to just above the swingarm. But before I do that I need to do some engine work. Did a compression test the other day and the left cylinder is running at 120psi and the right only 90psi. I dont believe I had the bike...
I had a little thread going in the cafe racer board because i didnt really know where the bike was going at first. But eventually it became a little brat build. If you wanna see where the bike started out check out my thread in the cafe board. Here are some recent pictures.
snowboard seat pan...
I picked the exercise mat over the camping foam stuff. This matt seemed a little bit more firm than a lot of the camping pads i looked at. The camping pads just seemed to soft and I think I would have had to use more layers.
Regardless of the style of seat you are going for you could use the same materials. Just a different shape. I would definately recommend that exercise mat for padding. It has performed alot better than other foams I have used in the past.
I also have always just used two cotter pins and two pieces of velcro to secure my seat to the frame. I drill two holes through the frame and seat pan and then run the cotter pins through the seat pan before adding foam and vinyl. I try to get my seats tucked up really nicely underneath my gas...
This is the exact mat that I used. Sites says its only 10mm thick whick means that i have less than a 1/2in of padding when I am using two layers. But I have never felt like a needed more padding. And I ride my bike almost everday spring, summer, and fall to go to work and town as well as a...
I just recently redid my seat on my 76 cj360t.
I used an old snowboard that was used as a rental at my local resort (picked out of the trash) for my seat pan.
A 1/2in thick exercise mat from walmart I like to use two layers. (cost $20 but I have made four seats from it so far)
Then I used...
Re: 76 CJ360t project (drunk shopping)
Got drunk off of cheap lager last night. Ended up buying some new stuff for my bike during the same week that might first months rent was due and payment for college classes was due. I bought some superbike bars, a rectifier from oregon motorcycle parts...
My bike had mismatched pipes when I got it. The owner before me lost one while riding and didnt bother to go back for it. So it had a cb pipe and a straight pipe off of a harley and it sounded like shit. You had two different sounds and I think having two different amounts of backpressure was...
