I bought this set of stainless bolts a few years ago for a '72 CB450 project that never panned out. Never even opened the plastic package. $25 shipped via priority mail.

How bad of an idea would it be to use a set of forks from a YZ125 or something like that? Single disk, spoked wheel, I'd have to change the springs and shorten the tubes, but I can have them machined...
I'm looking at a couple different options for the front end of my CB450, and I'd really like a set of upside down forks with some modern disk brakes. Assuming I can find something that works, would I be stressing the frame too much, especially around the headstock?
Some of you on the east coast might recognize the CB360T from the DC IMS show this year. The owner is very involved with the VJMC in Delaware.

I'm coming back after a couple years of being away and focusing on some other bike projects... I keep looking at the poor CB450s sitting sadly in pieces, and the corresponding guilt of unfinished projects is keeping me up at night. Compound that by shooting OTHER people's bikes...

AHHHH ok. That wasn't clear in the Clymer book... just a warning not to damage, nick, or scratch the torsion bar. I didn't know the torsion bars were inside those tubes... thought those tubes WERE the torsion bars.
