First ever cafe build progress report

bsa- I don't see it how you do. Besides, what's with your insults that seem to have come out of nowhere? You can be classier than that. Sherm

    BigSherm's '03 Z1000 cafe!

A small update. I plasti-dipped the wheels! The polished stock wheels were really holding back the look of the bike, I think. I considered ZX-14 wheels, but this was nearly free!

Get out your crayons, pt II !

Aminemed- It's been a while since I built that bike! I'll try to remember accurately what I did for that fork swap. I was lucky to find a modified (lengthened) CB750 steering stem that another guy had made for his similar front end swap. If you were to do it yourself, you'd need two CB750...

    CB350 project from Australia

From Green199- "That being said, the bike looks tidy mate, just sort that rear end clearance out!" That's how a man offers advice. -Sherm

    CB350 project from Australia

Bike looks great, Rbass! Pay no attention to XB33bsa, for some reason, he's driven to find fault in everything, or make it up if it's not there. -Sherm

    1977 CB550 Caferacer build

teazer- Yes, getting a knee down doesn't prove anything. I'm only saying my bike rode great, and that's one example of how it did. I also didn't say the OP's bike would handle any way at all. I'm only saying just because a bike is lowered in the front and raised in the rear doesn't mean it...

    1977 CB550 Caferacer build

BSA- Why are you diagnosing and trying to correct some problem you don't even know exists? Why not ask the guy who built it how it rides? -Sherm

    1977 CB550 Caferacer build

BSA- You're deflecting, not answering the question. Why don't you ask the builder and rider how the bike rides, rather than diagnose and correct some problem you don't even know exists? -Sherm

    1977 CB550 Caferacer build

BSA- There you are again with your standard "you did it wrong" opinion. I raised my '78 CB750 up in the rear and lowered the front all the way to the same fork angle as a new CBR1000, and it rode so well I could drag a knee. Why don't you ask the builder and rider how the bike rides, rather...

Canadian- For filters for my Z1000, I found the K&N part number for the kit that included 4 filters in the size I needed. Then a simple Google shopping search, with the results arranged from the lowest price got me a great deal. I hope this helps. -Sherm
