I have not dug into the ignition or timing. Has strong spark. Vent was checked and cleaned. Also tried to ride the bike with the cap opened, and it didn't effect anything. New NGK plugs New air filter.

Odd running problem. GSXR1100 Bimota SB6R

So some background. Bike is a Bimota SB6R that hasn't run in years. Was stored in a living room. New plugs New oil New fuel filter New air filter Cleaned the carbs and replaced all the seals. There were stored dry, so nothing crazy to clean. Slides move freely. Bike starts right up. Idles...

Real back in the day survivor

Still unpacking, and still finding cool junk. I saw this dizzy set up on a bike in a CL add in TX. Guy was open to parting out, but really wanted to sell it whole. Bike had a few other trick road race parts on it, but the dizzy was what I wanted. Figured I had missed out. THEN someone on...

Real back in the day survivor

It is a 16 inch. Normally I like the 18s, but I think on a chopper I like the old school look of the 16. Bike always has had a 16 rear. Also the 16in rear mag wheels are almost worthless as so many people want the 18, so I can get a brand new wheel for what it would cost to get spokes!

What do you guys think about swapping out the rear spoked wheel with a Henry Abe "star" mag wheel? Found a NOS CB750 wheel that should work. Im a sucker for vintage mag wheels...

Real back in the day survivor

Still unboxing, organizing and laying out what parts I have. Normally I prefer the look of polished metal to chrome, but on a bike like this....the more chrome the better. I also am a sucker for vintage "finned" covers. Spent some time messing around with another small project. CHRISTMAS...

Real back in the day survivor

Took a few pictures to better show the how the "patina" has kinda of crossed the line. Fairly large pieces of paint are flaking off the frame now. Unsure about painting or Powdercoating the frame. There is a decent amount of filler molding the frame, don't think you can do that and...

Real back in the day survivor

Spent some time getting the tools up on the pegboard. Feels really go to have my own shop for the first time. Also nice to have my expensive tools NOT stored in bins, bags and scattered around. I still have to hang better lights and run some electrical boxes to the benches. Hope to get some...

Real back in the day survivor

True, they are not exactly the gentleman's express, but the spirit is similar. Lots have commented on the springer. Bike sits odd on the side stand, but when it is on the road the lower member is right were it should be and the travel is what it is supposed to be. Brake stay, now that isn't...
