Ding Ding Ding. I cut the brackets and rewelded the to drop the headlight about an inch. Welded the left bracket on upside down. The result is two identical bracket/fork covers. Some days it just doesn't pay to pick up a wrench.
Yeah, the repair work is the result of my attempt to weld something beyond my ability. The collar is somewhere in the garage. I threw it when I saw what I did. :) Hint: There is something fundamentally wrong here.
