Just because I'm not working on the thread doesn't mean I'm not working on the bike.

I got it from a local guy that we work with a lot on vintage bikes, parts, etc.. It was just the naked black gel coat over glass when I got it.

My cage: six six rambler & mini

Re: My cage: six six rambler Yeah, people always ask if it's a Chevy II. I guess I can see that, I guess. ;) Well, the sun has finally came out here, and I'm emerging from a prolonged alcohol induced coma, crawling off the couch to get some work done. Snapped some pics of the mini today and...

My cage: six six rambler & mini

Re: My cage: six six rambler Thanks guys. Love any old bastard or underloved car. Ramblers, Nash's, Studebakers. Anything odd or ugly. It's funny the comments I get on the laced top. People either love it or hate it. One guy was looking it over while we were talking. He came to the top and...

Working on a back up plan in case the glass tank doesn't hold up.

Relocating Oil tank into Fuel tank

Colorado Norton Works did that (stashed the batt, too) on a Commando a few years back and I've been curious about it ever since. Made for a clean looking scoot. Will be keeping an eye on this for sure.

Beautiful bike man. I've got an featherbed frame that I'm considering squeezing a Ducati motor into. Any chance we can see some more pics?

Kinda a productive day. More so than yesterday anyway. My key came and it works ;D . Got smashed and broke the original. $6.50 for a NOS precut. Praise Allah for Ebay. Like to think this was final assembly. I know it wont be though, so I'll just consider it another mockup. Pleased with the...

    Re: 1980 gs1k + 2k sv650 = gsv1000pos Quickly is probly a good description. I'm thinkin this thing is gonna be pretty f'n mean.

Thanks guys. I could make a massive thread on my drink inspired screw ups alone. Yeah, headlight alignment is something I'm kinda anal about. For me, it doesn't matter if it's bobbed, chopped or cafe'd, the headlight should fall in line with the tank (esp for a cafe). This is what I was going...

You know, you're probly right. Fuck it. No turning back today. Wrenches are down. Beer is in hand.

Ding Ding Ding. I cut the brackets and rewelded the to drop the headlight about an inch. Welded the left bracket on upside down. The result is two identical bracket/fork covers. Some days it just doesn't pay to pick up a wrench.

Yeah, the repair work is the result of my attempt to weld something beyond my ability. The collar is somewhere in the garage. I threw it when I saw what I did. :) Hint: There is something fundamentally wrong here.
