Friend Paul Brodie of "Flashback Fabrication in Fort Langley BC Canada is about finished with his 1919 Excelsior engined race bike for vintage class.

It's got the same engine as the board track replica bikes he's built, with a Triumph gearbox. Check out the Excelsior project at:

www.flashbackfab.com

The rules allow a pre-1955 bike to be 1000cc in the 750 class. This rig should make about 60 RW HP, but the thing only weighs 260 lb. That's not that much more than a TZ250 Yamaha!

That's not (BTW) Paul in the bottom picture - it's his girlfriend Trish who races in the Honda 160 class and also 600 Sportsman on a Yamaha R6.

Quite a lot of hard work and dedication poured into that board track racer. Thanks for the link, I had never seen how casting patterns were made before, very interesting.

Nothing to say.....just bow down.
Read that a while back....now I feel EXTRA lame....

yeah - and they only sell for $155,000 US (no, I didn't add any extra digits).

I can totally see that. I know there are folks who would be happy to drop that kind of coin for something so special and unique. My good friend owns TLC here in LA, and his base price for his ICON (FJ40 Landcruiser copy) is 100k. some folks can just afford really special toys.

I'll never own one, but I can always dream.
