trying to get my hands on some history, but this "finding the gem" process is much harder than I imagined.... i guess that kind of explains itself haha
 
Well how much are you trying to spend? This 1966 Sears Puch is probably a bit less than the Ducati I sold,,, but is way faster and more original ...a better bike in my opinion
 
It really depends on the bike. I just sold one of my cars for around 15k, so I have wiggle room, but I also kind of wanted to get a "good deal" bike and go through the mirthful frustrations of restoring a bike.
I've been looking at some meridian bonnevilles, any recommendations? can you point me in the right direction?
 
well for $5,000 you could get a fleet of 80's bikes.....Or you could get something in good running shape with a title from the 60's for $2-$5 depending on what you get but do research don't buy an old Ducati and hope it will perform or handle or keep up with a newer bike because it won't , a bevel drive may keep a smile on your face tho....I don't know much about triumphs but i'd get one if the price was right
