1969 CB350 (Alice)

Shortround

Coast to Coast
Thought i would start a thread on my new project. I spent most of the day welding some brackets on the tank and getting it sit right. I hope to finish cutting off the tabs and welding in a plate for the battery relocation.

Cheers.

Re: 1969 CB350

i cut some vents into the brake hubs today. i have been putting off painting the frame because i can't decide what color the bike is going to be. black frames are boring but the cb350 frame isn't the best looking with the half stamped/half tube design. i'm thinking of just painting it black so not to draw any attention to it.

Re: 1969 CB350

those vents are HUGE.... your going to have a lot of debri getting in unless if you put some mesh over it.

oh and why didn't you remove the starter sprocket from the crank?

That rotational weight is slowing you down!

Re: 1969 CB350

I'm going to pull the starter drive off, i just hadn't gotten to it yet. I'll also make some screen covers out of aluminum or carbon fiber. You have to or you'll see the webbing on the other side

my seat came in from hotwing glass. i usually make my own but i want to finish the bike in time to take it to Leesburg. i had to shorten it by about 4 inches but it fits the 350 frame well. if your looking for a good seat at a great price check them out. the seat in the pic is the road race 1. its only 8.75 inches at the widest point; not 9 as the site says. I still haven't desided on a color. but i'm leaning towards white and red.

I finished cutting the vent covers. I desided to go with aluminium this time. I still can't decide on a color, but I'm leaning toward ford performance white with red stripes. i'm getting a little tired of painting silver. Graphite, pewter, stirling, slate; it all looks gray to me. I was going to paint the hoops red but I think I'm going to hate it. It looks good in my mind though. I tried lemans blue once, it didn't turn out well. :( I had to unlace the hoop and repaint it black.

I finished drilling and taping the hubs for the vent covers. but I still have to polish the brake assembly. I just need to pick up some brass screen. I thought i had some but I can't remember where I put it.
