Ridin a CL350 and buildin a CB350 Cafe
So, let me start by saying this is one cool corner of the the internet.
I thought I would throw up some pictures and let you guys know what I have going on. I bought a 1972 CL350 and a 1970 CB350 as a pair a couple months ago. The CL was in running condition, so I tuned that one up and have it running pretty good. Still has and oil leak, always another day.
I plan on doing a cafe racer style build with the CB350. I really like the stripped down look.
I started to rebuild the stock carbs before I realized it was going to be easy and better to not use them (I can use the parts for the CL350). So, I ordered a pair of the black 30mm OKO carbs and mounted them in the stock manifolds with some rubber tubbing to get it running (is my best option the CB360 manifolds?). To my surprise it fired on the right side only after a half dozen kicks. With some starter fluid in the left side to get it going, it fired up and idle just fine.
Now its time to tear it down to the frame and start from the ground up.
I have ordered some clubman bars and I'm working on ordering some rear sets from Viet from this forum.
I need ideas for a seat, if anyone has any others. I don't really want to mess with fiberglass (might have to) and I saw the vintage war helmet which is a great idea. I just feel bad destroying history for a bike.
Let me know what you are thinking.... the good, the bad, and the ugly...
