Looking to buy a helicoil for a CB350. Does anyone know what size it is? I keep getting M6x1.0 but want to confirm.

std 14mm long reach you want this kit with piloted reamer

how bad are the threads you will want the kit like above that has a guided reamer to o/s the hole for tap
but this is absolutely no garantee at all you will be able to do the job yourself
have you ever done a hellicoil ? have you ever drilled a hole ? ever tapped a hole in nasty sand cast aluminum ?have you ever measured something with a tool like a digital or veneier caliper or a micrometer ?
you only get one chance to get the hole out to the tap size square and true to the original, and one chance to get the tap started straight and true
it must be done with valves closed and its best to stuff some cleaned oiled rags in the bore to keep any chips from wedging in the top ring land which is very rare but you never know
i if you are not real handy and very confident with processes like drilling and tapping you best have a machinist do the job or experienced vintage mc mechanic
it is critical that when reaming and yapping, the tool is very calm and still and stays true around the axis of the hole, with as little as is possible runout on the shank of the tool you cant be wallering it in

and how did you not know its a 14mm std long reach thread ? how do you not know 6mm is about as far from being correct as you could possibly be ? it is actually astounding to me :( are you a girl?a dumb one ? how the hell do you keep the bike running ?
that is like the kids these days cant even put air in a tire

m14x1.25 would've been good enough. It's been a long week. Typical do the ton response, just started dabbling with this form again but I can see I haven't been missing anything. Thanks.
