1972 CB450 cafe BCR original***pics of finished bike***

Gorgeous machine. I have a '72 that I'm working on, I could only hope that it will look 1/10th as cool as yours.. I'm inspired..

The Italian blogs really like the bike.

I can see that, the tank seems to have a vintage ducati feeling to me

Thanks, I appreciate the praise. The stacks were made by BCR. I don't feel comfortable running them on the street, although they do have screens, I'm just worried, there is alot of dirt on the roads here. The shocks are from a CB900F, ebay forty bucks. They have some cool adjustments on them.

Honda called them FVQ and the wags immediately claimed that stood for Fades Very Quickly. I love the way they mimic Marocchi (sp?) shocks of the era, but they are pretty poor as shocks. There was an article in Classic Mechanics or one of the other Biritsh mags on them recently.

Nice bike BTW, in case I forgot to mention that. The tank is unique and the paint job is superb.

FYI from what I see of race bikes, the ideal placement for rearsets appears to be more or less level with the front of the seat or maybe an inch or so back from there. It allows the legs to work at the right angles and still allows the rider to take weight through the balls of the feet. As I understand it, we're not designed to take all our weight on our butts and hands. We're designed to support most of our weight through the legs - much like riding a horse. It is more comfortable and allows for better control.

Love the attention to detail on that bike.

Thanks teaser for the praise.

The shocks were really purchased to keep the build moving along while Dave Quinn special ordered me some Hagons. He ordered goldwing bodies with less valving and weight appropriate springs. It was going to take 8 weeks so the CB900F shocks were a good substiute until the Hagons got here. I'll do a ride report on the Hagons if it stays warm here.

Tim, the tires are Shinko Tour Master. I get them from bike bandit, they are priced good and you can get matching front & rear in the sizes you want. I have used them on three builds, no complaints so far. The sizes are 110/90/19 and 130/90/18.

hey tim, you can also get those tires on motorcycle super store, ive used them on 2 builds so far, and motorcyclesuperstore.com seems to have the best price as they are pretty much always on sale lol

Tim, my fellow Canadian

I looked all over for those tires and had them ordered and then later told they wont ship to Canada. I got my Shinko Classic 240's from http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/ they gave good prices and ship to Canada for heaps less then any where else i was quoted. Still waiting on them, only been a week but was sent a confirmed shipping email. fingers crossed.

And i never said it but this bike is sick.
