That ride is totally BADASS, makes me wanna post pics of my shitty Honda MT50 Ratbike/Scrapheap. Might just have to get some pics later and do that.

Before I got into cafés I was totally into rat and survival bikes, (I still am, just won't admit it openly :p) so I really dig what you're doing here, keep it up.

well the weather here has been sh*t for the past week. I didnt get a chance to work on the bike until last night. After 4 hours, new wires, plugs, coils, electronic regulator-rectifier, regapping the points, cleaning up the points lobe, and a dozen kicks i got this

R5 1 kick start

1972 yamaha r5 running after 20 years

She should be on the road come spring, I still need to clean the tank, mount the electronics, weld up the frame, mount the license plate, wire the tail light, get a wider rear tire, put on new exhaust gaskets and front sprocket, and mount the back of the rear fender. the list is getting shorter.

Right on man! That's the best sound, 'specially all the hard work you put in.

She is all done and getting some "patina" on her. I took it for a ride and its a real head turner. Its still a little cool to take it on a long ride. Here are some pics. I still need to paint the head light and the mounts but i'll get to it.

Ive put about 200 miles on the ol rat so far this summer and o must admit it's a real head turner. I think to add a little more " what the fuck" factor to the bike I'm gonna make her into a trike. I'll move the rear fender up front and splice an ol four wheeler axle and carrier setup to the rear. Im waiting to start until I can get myself a set of chambers so I can make it easier to put everything together. I'll postmpics when I start the process.

Later

Well life has been real busy for the past few months and i havnt had time to do a lot of posting or riding for that matter, but work has finally slowed down a bit and i figured i would update ye'all on the Yamabomination. The jetting is close It isn't great but its most certainly manageable to ride. I must say its a real head turner, mostly in disbelief. It seems all my hard work has paid off because beople cant believe how big of a piece of shit my bike is. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Anyway here are some pics

Put some metal in yer eye....
It's kind of a shame... kinda like when you see a camero turned into a monster truck. But,... awe, never mind.
