1974 cb350 front end swap

no real reason here other than opportunity... both options are available locally.

1981 cm400 tubes (same fork tube diameter)

1984 cb650sc front end (Larger diameter tubes, dual disc, same steering stem bearing size)

is the brake set up on either of these options worth the effort?

Re: 1974 b350 front end swap

I'm assuming you mean "Cb350".

The 650 forks would be an upgrade with the dual disk and beefier tubes. You'll need the front wheel as well. Before you swap you'll need to determine the length of the forks to make sure they're not too long. Cb350 forks are pretty short. Also, what is the difference in rake between the 350 and 650? How much of that number is frame and how much is triple tree?

Not gonna work, the 84 cb650sc has a model specific triple tree. People are suggesting using cb750/900 triples with the cb650sc 37mm tubes/wheel/dual brake, but those triples have a different stem bearing.

Thanks for posting that list of different fork diameters rupaulpierce

this is LENGTHS and diameters, the outer diameter list is on this forum and widely available elsewhere. took me a while to dig up this list of lengths.

I picked up the front end from a cb500t and the forks are 2mm larger and 1" longer. I need to use the 500's triple tree but all balls makes a bearing set that allows that triple tree to fit into the 350 frame. Might be an easier swap for you.

If you are interested in the dual front disc the info is out there. It used to be on a website but that site is down, search for cb750 dual disc conversion. I'm still on the fence if the extra weight it really worth it. You can use the hub from the 500t and you'll have to use those discs as well, because among other reasons the 350 hub/disc is 4 bolts and the 500/750 are 6.
