Sick!!! I love the fairing! Do you have any pics of the fairing mounts?
Thanks! I just dug around now and can't find anything that shows the mounts better than in the pics that are already in this thread.
There are 8 mounts total; 3 each side plus the 2 above the forks. All the mounts are basically the same: 3/8"x1/8" aluminium tube is drilled and tapped to 1/4-20, and a 1"x1/4-20 flathead allen sandwiches the fibreglass between an outside 3/4" finish cup washer, a 3/4" neoprene washer, a 1-1/8" neoprene washer, and an inside 1/4"x1-1/8" fender washer.
The mounts below the neck are essentially two extensions out from the stock side-reflector mounts. The rearmost mount is a continuous piece side-to-side, welded to angle tabs which are in turn attached to the carb boot bolts. There is another tube mount below the front of the engine, continuous side-to-side, rubber-mounted to the front motor mount. The upper mount is a continuous piece side-to-side, with a center tab tapped into the steering stem crown bolt head via a ball and socket swivel.
Because I was never sure that the fairing would "make the cut", I didn't want to commit to welding mounts to the bike, so everything had to be bolt-on. I screwed around for months trying to come up with some sort of quick-release fairing subframe, and still ponder it, but this is working out great so far.
EDIT: This shot of the steering damper also shows one of the fairing mounts coming off the frame...
