Sounds pretty good actually. I need to check the valves as they are a bit clicky but most Hondas seem to have a bit of valve noise when set right so they are probably fine. End of the week I'll be registering and insuring it then we can take it to the practice spot down the road and he can take a crack at it.

Punch list:

LED Dash - waiting on the lights to arrive been 2 months
Side covers - when they land sand and paint
repaint tank - gas buggered the paint in 2 spots so when side covers land we will re-do tank and 2K clear both
register and insure - doing that Thursday or Friday after pay lands in account.
check valves and change oil. decided to leave the old oil in for the test run as it was clean and smelled fine but will dump it and put fresh in for the season now.

So close to done but it is 100% ridable as is. the signals flash when the engine is running so fully legal. This is the 3rd Honda that has worked that way, just on battery signals light steady, engine running and they flash?? oh well.

I should also mention the front brake upgrade worker super. It'll stoppie if you want but it's progressive enough that a panic stop won't cause one. You can grab brake and it stops hard but to lock the wheel you need to grab harder, a firm squeeze will stop it in short distance for sure though which the old mechanical wouldn't do.

Well is snowed here. Sidecovers are in purgatory qith DHL while I argue the extorsion demands. Magoo wipped this up. Need to figure out a mount and finshe the plug. I wired in a plug coming out of the headlight but lost the what wire goes where sheet I made so it will be a test light thing lol.

FedEx (if you can convince the shipper to use them) seems to be the only courier company that doesn't ream you at the border. Didn't know that DHL were so bad, and we all know UPS are the absolute worst. I always kick off down the phone and eventually get put through to a higher-up and get the ridiculous brokerage fees waived as a "one-off" type deal. Which only makes it more obvious that they happily just fuck everyone over and only refund you if you kick up a stink. Criminal really.

Nice job with that led light housing gents - this bike is proper garage-built. Love it. Magoo got the skills to pay the bills

Now if Dad can just get the wiring of it sorted. I think the issue is LED's light with way less juice than an old school bulb. So the signals work and with the added indicators now flash with the engine off as well. The high beam indicator works with no headlight on but the minute I add the bulb it lights no matter what. Switch off it's getting ~5 v then on it gets 6.5V but the LED lights on or off. the Neutral is wonky too, it was lit all the time, so I unhooked it and it went out so figured the switch may be bad but when I ground the wire it doesn't light? But, if I hold the bare wire in my fingers it half lights? I'm not sure what the issue is yet but I'll keep digging. I may need a resistor on the high beam, but I need to double check I didn't create a loop in the wiring for it first.

I suspect your challenge is a combination of dirty/corroded switch contacts and poor earthing.

i put led indicators like those in the headlamp of my cb390 project, they worked fine once the switching and earths were sorted.

are you using 12v leds or 5v?

The indicators(Signals) are fine, unless you mean the High beam and Neutral then I agree. they are all 6V LED as the bike is 6V. I think I may have a loop feed on the high beam and I need to trace the neutral wire as it may have a short.

if the badges are made of alloy then you might find painting them black and then sanding back the raised letters goves a decent result, that’s what i did on Scruffy :

tank are brass. the side covers are cheap plastic. We'll do something else as the orange triangle is bad.
