First off I'm a Beginner motorcycle mechanic, I may have some questions as this progresses. I mostly work on bicycles and I have some knowledge about cars (and now some about motorcycles). I'm also pretty hand with any electronics. So here goes I picked this thing up about 2 weeks ago now. Its in good working order I've had some problems with the clutch popping but I've since fixed that. Also one of the fork seals were weeping that has also been fixed.

Less talk more pics.

Heres the bike as I picked it up:

So far I've done a few things to it. Including:
Switched out the blinkers for smaller Mini-aluminum blinkers (from dime city cycles)
Put on some Clubman bars (just bought clip-ons so these will come off soon)
New Lock-on grips
And some bar end mirrors

I'll post pics on Monday of the bike as it is now. I'm also working on a new dash board for the ignition switch and hopefully all the idiot lights. It will look like this but with out the sharp angles.

Thats all for now I'll get some more pics up asap.

Re: 1975 CB360T

I've been really busy but I'll be headed to You-Do-It Electronics this week to grab all the goodies for my dashboard.

Re: 1975 CB360T

^ Thanks! Ebay strikes gold once again..

Also I put in the new lights today. I'll put some pictures up later.

Re: 1975 CB360T

Here it is with lights, I didn't end up with two blinker lights so I put the High Beam light in the bucket for symmetry.

Re: 1975 CB360T

Just put new better LED lights on the dash I'll post pictures later..

Question for you guys. After about 1 hour of riding I end up with gas? oil? not really sure I think its oil on the top of the cylinder head. I've inspected this before it seems to be leaking out of where the tach cable goes in the engine or out a hairline crack under a bolt directly under the cable. Any Idea's? I tihnking of JB welding the crack and taking the bolt out but I was wondering if anyone's had this trouble before.

Re: 1975 CB360T

Upon inspection of the CYLINDER HEAD DIAGRAM on Bike Bandit I'm thinking it could be the Oil Seal #14 I'll take it apart on monday, anyone who's had this problem let me know so I don't think im crazy.

Re: 1975 CB360T

Got some Exhaust Wrap on the way, as well as a new set of front blinkers. Broke the last ones while working on the clip-ons. Also looking into different exhaust pipes, any recommendations?

Re: 1975 CB360T

Replaced the Tachometer gear seal today. Little bit of frustration till I used a wood screw to pull it out. New ones in and my header is dry as a bone!

This was while it was running well..

Then it started leaking gas from the carbs. I cleaned them up reinstalled and they...... leaked again. So I did it again, they leaked finally adjusted the floats so they were almost 20mm and they stopped. But now I'm running to lean and the engines not getting enough gas and its getting really hot.

So today I bought 2 Carb overhaul kits and some motor oil. I'll change out the oil and overhaul the carbs next week hopefully in time to get me to Rice-o-rama next weekend. I also ordered a small tach to replace my old one. I plan on centering the speedo and having the tach right next to it and lined up on the bottom. And maybe changing up the dash a bit. But we'll see how much time I have next week.

(oh and thats my buddies CL175 in the background. Just got his permit and registration and wants to slowly follow us to western ma.)

Re: 1975 CB360T

Lots of tweaks this week. The weather is sort of co-operating so I can work outside.
Today:
-finished Rebuilding the carbs
-reinstalled them
-started my new speedometer bracket and tweaked the old dash.
Tomorrow:
-Change the oil first thing
-drill out the new taillight so I can mount my license plate better.
-finish the speedo bracket
-GO FOR A RIDE!! (and test the plugs to see if I'm still running lean)

Then I should be just about ready for the weekend.

Runs like a top! All ready for this weekend. After the rebuild I noticed better top end and faster acceleration so that's always nice. I broke a spark plug cap but I just picked up some NGK caps at GBM so I'm still good to go.

So after many shapes and idea's I finally landed on this. I had it water jet cut from aluminum. The light on the headlight will be the same type as the ones I'm mounting in the dash. They are 12V LED's and they look amazing (RED/BLUE/GREEN). I'll be mounting them tomorrow and soldering them in place.

I'm thinking of making a few of these and selling them. I can powder coat them any color or polish them to mirror. This one is for the 360T and im not sure if it will fit any others but If your local I can take some measurements and design one for your bike.

I've also decided how I'm going to paint the bike over the winter. No tank badges and just a honda wing off set on the side panels (Off white & black)

Dang! Where do you get stuff cut like that? Pretty clean. Any reason you didn't incorporate the gauge mounts? Gives more options this way of course to run without gauges etc. but just wondering.
