YES, you should!

I know...too many hobbies, too little time. I also have a nasty habit of loosing interest in a project once it's finished and I go on to the next thing.

That's what projects are for. Once they are finished, they are..... well, finished. Time fr the next one

Hey Wingspan, did you run into this problem with your power dynamo, long shaft as in instructions, and short shaft as in reality? I don't see how this is going to work, unless I was sent wrong parts really.

Are you certain you ordered the correct kit from Powerdynamo? There are two types, one for bikes that had points stock (short shaft) and another for the later 500's with the PEI based stock ignition (long shaft).

Look here: http://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7261/7261confu.htm

My bike has the short shaft. No issues.

Comment for OPs, T500 and GT500 came with some very large changes in main jet size over the years that seems to relate to intake system design changes and different porting. Unless you know for sure that the bike you are copying is identical in every way that affects performance, play safe and start large and work down.

Stock main jets are 410 (VM34), 150 (VM32) or 97.5 (VM32). I think the 410 was a large hex and the others are large round IIRC.

I haven't been into one since '77, shop I worked at came 8th in 1970 production TT on T500

Excellent point and one I'd forgotten. My bike came with the 97.5 jets stock.

Thanks, I am trying 110s as I have a stock exhaust, I noticed you are running the titan performance exhaust. I have cage style pods. will test run her today.

Hey Wingspan,

I fabricated a slight variation of your rearset set-up. Do you find the shifter side horribly uncomfortable? I have to lift my whole leg to upshift. The problem is that the Titan expansion chambers are so big you cannot lower the shifter arm to get a lower foot angle for ankle motion up. I am actually trying to add more seat foam to sit myself higher up, but I don't know if that will do any good. Any thoughts?

It was certainly an issue, but one that got better as you get used to it. I used a bolt to fashion a longer toe peg on the shifter so I could get my toe under it more easily. I recently sold this bike and the new owner mentioned possibly taking that a step farther, possibly with some sort of dog-leg shape to move the shift peg even further out and down to clear the pipe.
