1977 CB550F Cafe Racer Rebuild

I purchased this bike about 8 months ago. It had already received its first cafe treatment but I thought it lacked the attention to detail necessary to make it stand out. I took it down to the frame, started over, and just finished it a couple weeks ago. I documented the entire build process for anyone interested.

There are still a few things I'm working on (seat, home brew speedo integrated tach, etc.) but I'm calling it done.

I love your bike, I have looked at your build site loads of times and it is pretty much the inspiraction for me to build my bike.

Wow...thanks!

I got much of my inspiration from forums like this, so it's really great to hear my project has inspired someone else.

Love the look of your Tach. Your bike looks simple and clean. Simply love it.

Thank you very much! I didn't like how bulky the gauge cluster looked originally so I ditched the speedometer and relocated the ignition key, this gave me room to make a new bracket that pulled the tach in closer to the bars, and laid it down some.

The bike speedometer is temporary until I have time to work out the software bugs in my one off gps-based integrated speedometer, which currently works great on the test bench but has issues when I start putting it all together.
