1977 XS750 - Project Maggie Mae

So in the last week or so have ordered quite a few parts (headlight, turn signals, R6 master cylinder), put a few parts on (coils, rear master cylinder, turn signals). Working on cleaning up the rotors and will paint along with the tank and tail when the weather allows (has rained every day for the last month). Debating about putting the rear fender on and adding original taillight instead of what I mocked up for the tail (just don't like how the LED light looks). Hopefully will add some new parts and should be ready to get back to work on the engine soon.

Well, it has been quite a while since any updates to this, but I am resurrecting the thread with the goal of completing this year. A lot has happened over this last decade or so with career transition, COVID and now possibly retirement. All the parts have been moved several times, so it will take a bit to gather everything and see what else I need. Decided the silver color of the frame wasn't going to work and getting it and the swingarm powdercoated. Stay tuned for further updates.

Glad you are back working on this thing. These old bikes still need our love.
You're so right. I felt good when I was working on it before and then got distracted with life. Now, I feel a greater sense in fixing, driving, and riding older vehicles. Wonder if that's what they call "a sign"? :D

Spent the last few days updating the build plan and test-fitting the layout. Too cold to redo the fiberglass on the seat, but it will be ready to go as soon as it warms up. Yesterday, spent some time doing the first round of clean-up/polish of the exhaust. Everything was by hand and there are some tough spots that I will have to go over with a polisher. Today, the frame and swingarm go off for powdercoat. Hoping the weather will be better/warmer next week, so I can start painting parts (especially the motor and final drive).
