1978 CB750K Neutral Circuit Bypass

sxecafe

You think the Carpet Pissers did this?
I'm trying to start up my 1978 CB750K project. I have fuel and spark but it's not firing. The neutral light is not on, although the trans is in neutral and the clutch can be pulled in. I know there is a circuit on the clutch lever but those wires got yanked out of the switch by the PO.

Is there a way to bypass this circuit so I can kick it over.

Those switches cut the coils out of the circuit, so if you're getting spark that's not your problem.

That's what I thought! So, what's the deal, then? I've got all the necessary components but no BOOM...

Carbs clean, timing set, valves set, coils attached to right cylinders, wires connected the right way.
Millions of possibilities

Ground the neutral override or connect it. Dark green with red tracer. Not light green with red tracer- thats the neutral light. Has nothing to do with the bypass

Ground out, meaning touch it to ground (just making sure). Can't connect is as the switch is bunk. How about just touching the two wires together?

Thats just to fix your neutral light. Doesnt have anything to do with running.
Have you set your timing and adjusted your valves?

Timing looked decent last night (maybe just slightly retarded) but didn't check valves. Will have to do that tmrw along with the points.
