1978 Honda CB750F Choke not closing off valves.

1978 CB750F-Coming along nicely!
My CB 750F isn't closing off the butterfly valves all the way when the choke is on. I decided to take my carbs off and take a closer look at the choke mechanism. I think I might have found the problem. It looks like the spring is loose. I tightened it up a bit but it still doesn't close the butterfly valves completely when the choke is on. I'm not sure what else I can try other than buying a whole new spring for this guy. Although, I'm not sure how I would be able to take the current one off and put this one on. Any suggestions?

These photos show the choke down (Valves open), Choke on (valves closed partially), and close up of the choke spring.

Just an update on this. I fixed it. The problem was the butterfly valves were getting stuck in the chambers. I unscrewed the and readjusted and all worked well after that.

If ever you do need to change the spring, the cross head screws you undid would nee dot come out to remove the butterflys and the linkage I think has a small pin through it, remove that and you can slide out the bar to just passed the spring and then swap the old for the new.
