1978 Honda CX500 Cafe Build

Bikes look great. I went for the resto on my CX but I think it's time for a change.... I'm inspired ;D

Sold this one today and I managed to break even. As a first project it was always a joy to work on and ride but you can't build another until you get the money out of the first. Enjoy the bike Ryan...

I went to the local bike show and sale and shamelessly parked the 81 CX500 out front with a for sale sign on it. While I was there aimlessly wandering look what I saw. This is the first time I saw this bike but it looks familiar no?

As I might have some space in the garage I might have another candidate. So as not to be stuck in a rut I was looking to pickup this runner with 64k for $500, thoughts?
I know the Wrenchmonkeys did one that turned out awesome.

Yes its Ryan, Did you sell the 81?

Welcome to do the ton Ryan. Still have the bike but I have two guys very interested at this time. I will give the new owner your contact information so you can get the twins together if you want.

Great job on a first bike project. Breaking even is never a bad thing, either!

This build is being featured in our directory here: downtown809's CX500 Cafe

At this point, we're only displaying a reduced-size photo (similar to what you'd find in Google Images). We'd like to ask for your permission to publish the original full-size image with your build listing.

If anyone would like to have a build of their own listed, just send me a message with a link to the build thread and we'll take care of the rest.

Guzzi v7 racer, 750cc, i took one for a spin a while back on a demo day, was really disappointed, kept hitting the rev limiter on gear changes, found it badly under powered. When i tested the cx, i was definitely not disappointed, got my ton on the ride home after i bought it

Well it has been a year and I'm not going to bore you people with another cx but here is a picture of the latest. I went to the platers to check out some areas of concern on the tank and it was in copper. I decided to leave it as is. I haven't put fuel in it and he tells me he will bring it to either nickel or chrome with ease. What do you guys think?
