1979 cb750k mono shock

THE OLDER I GET, THE YOUNGER I FEEL!!!
Hey guys thinking of doing a née sub frame on my cb750k with a mono shock swing arm. My question is, I've want to use a 94 600 seca swing arm, and will it bolt on to my frame or will I have to do some heavy mods on the swing arm to bolt on? As I'm building a whole new sub frame.

Yes I can weld just that I don't want to buy the mono swing arm and having to redo the shaft where it bolts to the frame as for the sub I can make me one and weld it together. The only thing it worries me is the swing arm not fitting. The same swing arm was used on the red and white cb 750 that was featured on cafe tv series a while back built by Fuller Hot Rods.

Make a wishbone bracket that is welded to the original swing arm. Then bolt the mono-shock to the top of the wishbone bracket. The top of the mono-shock could then be bolted to a bracket welded to frame somewhere between the two rear down tubes (most likely where the battery used to be).

Here's something a little different from what I described, but may help in the design process: http://bestpoems.ucoz.com/blog/2009-07-28-32

Go to ebay and find the (two your's and the Seca's) swingarms in question then click "ask a question" to each seller and ask them to take an exact measurement of the width of the pivot end. If they are the same you have a project if not then search for the correct width to match the S/A on your bike. Most guys will answer your question to help make a sale. I have a salvage yard near my home so it's easier but I have done the Q&A ebay route too. Just guessing but many Yamaha swingarms are 7,7/8" width at the pivot. Ask about the pivot bolt diameter in millimeters as well. Buy your swingarm as as complete unit, pivot bolt, axle, axle adjusters, chain slider, and linkage it's cheaper that way.
Cheers, 50gary

Just got me this for my future project, it's a match at the pivot!
